    Ted remembered running through the falling snow. He had only enough time to put on a bathrobe that barely covered his belly and his breasts. Still, he ran out into the snowstorm, staggering in his bare feet down the cold concrete walkway.

    Tiana! he shouted in a high-pitched voice. It’s not what you think! Please, come back!

    Suddenly, the snow started falling more thickly. The snowflakes as big as postage stamps were nestling in his cleavage and stinging his thighs. The wind blew harder and harder. Ted could see Tiana up ahead, struggling as the wind blew blinding snow directly into her face.

    A gust of wind nearly knocked Ted onto his back. There was already an inch of snow on the bare concrete. His bathrobe fluttered like a flag on a storm-tossed ship. His sweat froze on his brown flesh.

    Tiana! he dug his feet into the walkway, but the wind was too strong. Tiana was less than a few yards away but the snow was so thick that he could barely see her. He called out to her again and again, but the wind blew his words right back in his face.

    Ted couldn’t feel his feet. He couldn’t feel his hands. The sting of ice whipping against his bare flesh grew softer and more distant. When he opened his eyes, all he saw was a blinding sea of white. The world disappeared, and Ted’s curvy body felt like nothing but a shingle shrinking point in the middle of an endless universe.

    Suddenly, Ted slipped, but the ground never hit him. His arms flailed, his legs kicked at the air, but he just kept falling into the sea of white. The wind rushed up at him as if he was skydiving. The rushing air battering his ears grew quieter and quieter. Ted felt weightless—his plump, round body felt weightless.
