Wow, Elsie! You’ve got boobs!

Elsie strutted towards the pool wearing her red and white polka-dot bikini. Her mosquito-bites stuck out of her chest like pushpins on a bulletin board. They stood out slightly more than the jawbreaker she kept tucked in her cheek.

Your bathing suit is so cute! Donna squealed. Where’d you get it?

Mom bought it for me at Surf Club, Elsie grinned. She tossed her hair back and stuck out her chest. Mom thought I was smaller, but the saleslady told her to buy something a little bigger.

It was Labor Day, and Elsie, Lizzie, Donna, and Jen were having one last swim in Moira’s pool.
