You can manage your social anxiety with medications, therapy sessions, and simple daily exercises that are part of CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy. This book by acclaimed anxiety coach Derick Howell will show you the EXACT steps you need to take.

Introduction
Have you ever prepared so much for a presentation only to get there and just freeze up or stutter through your talk? You’ve probably also felt that mild uneasiness that comes with talking to strangers, right? It may be normal to feel a bit nervous in social situations, but if your everyday interactions are causing you fear, embarrassment, self-consciousness, and significant anxiety, then you have what is called social anxiety – a disorder that can ruin your life if you don’t overcome it.
There are differing degrees of social anxiety, but, all in all, it can make us act awkwardly in any social situation. Social anxiety disorder is a mental health condition that makes people feel irrational anxiety whenever they interact socially. For these people, interaction with others is very fearful; they are mostly scared or anxious about being evaluated or judged negatively. If not kept in check, it can create fear in almost every area of one's life, amongst other things. It also causes low self-esteem, depression, negative thoughts, heightened sensitivity to criticism, and poor social skills.
Social anxiety is very prevalent. Some people have even concluded that it is just the way they are, and they can’t do anything about it, but that is not correct. The difference between those who overcome social anxiety and those who live with it is that the former did something about it, and the other chose to resign to their fate.
In a broad sense, it is okay to be shy; most of us can be shy to varying degrees. But if your level of shyness is high enough to deter you from living your best life, then it is abnormal, and something needs to be done about it. Because if you think of it, nothing that is within your power to change should hamper your progress in life. Nothing within your control should stop you from living your best life.
Social anxiety can cause you to blow a career opportunity, ruin that presentation you’ve prepared so much for, or freeze up on a date and go home wondering what went wrong. If you have ever been in any of these situations, you are not alone. Millions of Americans are with you on this. The good news is you can do something about it, and reading this book is taking a step in the right direction.
There are various treatments and steps, as well as lifestyle and mindset changes you can take to get over your fear of social interactions. Social anxiety is a thing of the mind, and that is where we must go if we wish to overcome it. While therapies that work to adjust the mindset, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), have proven to be effective against social anxiety, lifestyle changes such as reducing stress, exercising more, participating in social events, getting enough sleep, and eating healthier are also good ways of handling social anxiety. In the course of this book, we will take an in-depth look into the different ways that can help you reclaim your life from the chilly grip of social anxiety.
I know these methods will prove effective for you, because as a professional speaker and an anxiety coach who has helped several people with social anxiety, and after having suffered from it myself, I can say that I know what works (and what doesn’t). I have presented on the topic multiple times and written several pieces to help people with a social anxiety disorder. I am particularly passionate about this subject because it nearly robbed me of my dreams, and when I successfully moved past it, I was on the right path again. That freedom I felt after breaking free is my motivation, and I hope that before you flip the last page of this book, you too will experience that freedom.
Why should you aim for this freedom? You should do so for everything. The benefits are so numerous, and I can attest to that from firsthand experience. When you eventually rid yourself of social anxiety disorder, you will finally get the chance to:
● Be yourself
● Socialize more
● Gain more friends
● Be more comfortable in public
● Increase your self-esteem
● Experience freedom from excruciating thoughts
● Experience freedom from extreme sensitivity
● And more...
How do I know this? I used to experience terrible fear whenever I would go on stage to talk, or when meeting new people, or countless other social settings - but the tips in this book have been the most beneficial for me, and that has helped me get over my fears and anxiety. Now, I am a well-established speaker and writer who has managed to make a name for myself. I have also succeeded in building successful relationships that have kept my emotional and business life in good shape. I socialize very well and enjoy life. You’re probably wondering if I also have good self-esteem? You sure can bet on that.
However, don’t be fooled. I did not achieve these dramatic results by simply being extraordinary. It is not just me, as millions of Americans are waking up to reality and ridding themselves of this burden. I’ve watched people under my mentorship go from extremely timid and shy to daring and outgoing. You can be next!
What am I promising to you? After reading this book, you will overcome social anxiety (that, I am sure of). I will not hold back anything from you as I will dole out every step, system, and hack that has worked for me and countless others, and I will provide you with actionable steps to help you get over your social anxiety in no time.
You can start facing your fears and getting over your social anxiety as soon as you start reading this book. With every single minute, you are held up with social anxiety; you let opportunities pass you by. Remember that the future belongs to those who act now. All it takes is for you to read this book, follow the action steps outlined within, and you will see drastic changes unfold in your life.
Continue reading to find out the secrets that have helped me and countless others get over the worst of social anxiety. Don't just read this book; make a decision to follow every step I have included. Two people might read this book and experience differing impacts. The hungrier you are for results, the faster you will get them with this book.
Chapter One:
What is Social Anxiety?
The term social anxiety is often confused with shyness, but they are two totally different things. The nervousness and uncomfortable feeling that comes with a social event is social anxiety. In this section, I will give you a detailed explanation of what social anxiety is. My aim of doing this is to help you understand what social anxiety is, the
