    About the Author

I packed my files away and shut down my computer.  Grabbing my handbag, I darted out the door before anyone could talk to me.  I wanted to get home and relax in a hot bath with salts or oils just to wash away the remnants of an awful week.  My boss was an arrogant jerk who thought he was God’s gift to women. He had cornered me in the copy room again and made inappropriate advances. I managed to slip past him and went into the main office where there were many other staff. I did now know which way to turn as I could not afford to lose my job but could not put up with his treatment much longer. But it was Friday and I was on my way home!

I almost ran out the revolving door and slammed straight into a brick wall, or so it felt.  I fell back and would have landed flat on my behind except for the strong arms that grabbed me and prevented my fall. I looked up and up – the face was at least a head above mine.  I stammered: Thank you! and tried get leave but the hands did not let me go. I stood and waited with my head hanging down.

A strong voice said: At least let me see the face of the lady I rescued, please!

I glanced up and immediately looked down again, trying to catch my breath. I am sorry, I ran into you! Thank you for saving me from landing flat on the floor.

Think nothing of it. I am glad I was here to catch you! He chuckled and let go of my arms.  I slipped past him and hurried towards the bus stop. The bus was there and I jumped on.  Sitting down at the window, I chanced a look back and there he was standing watching me.  Tall, well-built, gorgeous, dark haired – an absolute hunk.  I could still see his warm brown eyes as he looked down at me when he caught me. I shivered and the old lady next to me asked if I was cold. I smiled and shook my head as the bus pulled away.  I glanced back as he turned and went into our building.

Arriving at home, I unlocked the door and patted the dogs who came running as usual. I kicked off my shoes and poured a glass of wine.  Wandering through to the bathroom, I opened the hot tap and poured bath salts in liberally.

Taking a sip of my drink, I sat on my bed and replayed the last half hour. I could still feel his hands on my arms. I took a swig and put my glass down. I got up and stripped and, picking up my drink, went to get in the hot water.  I lay back and relaxed, sipping occasionally. As the level in the glass lowered and the water cooled, I realised I needed to wash and get out.  I dried myself and put on a robe. What to make for supper?  I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. I really needed to go shopping but that can wait until tomorrow. I took out the makings of a salad and opened
