About the Author
***Dedication
For my husband and our four sons:
they are the reason I want to live a long healthy life.
***This Introduction is Worth Reading
My love of dairy has been an anchor of truth in a world of dieting lies. With every quick and easy weight loss plan to Get the Body I Want in Three Easy Steps by Friday that society has offered, dairy has been by my side whispering Where do I fit into this diet? Can you live without me?
I sigh and respond No, I can't, I love you,
and I pass on yet another opportunity to magically melt belly fat in moments with Moe-Monee's Measly Meal Pills.
It's not that diets or diet gimmicks don't work. You probably will lose twenty pounds in two weeks as promised by chewing raw gaga berries and smelling lettuce. The problem is that such diets are unsustainable; most people can't live that way for long. Or, like in my case, they don't want to live that way. Add cheddar to those gaga berries and we can talk.
On the surface, I'm stubbornly convinced that I can lose weight and still eat cheese because I love cheese. Subconsciously I'm operating from the conviction that God created food to be enjoyed and that real, natural, delicious food should be part of every healthy diet, even if a wonderful food like dairy has to be enjoyed in limited amounts.
Weight loss needs to be approached holistically like Swiss cheese because our whole body is involved in the process. Our bodies were designed by God to enjoy food, to move, and to rest and all three are essential to a body's gouda health. When you Kefir your body as a whole, losing weight can take longer than with miracle diets. However, by developing the healthy habits that result in weight loss, we ensure that our results last a lifetime, which is a butter deal by far. The habits we're developing are spelled out in the title: Sex, Soup, and Two Fisted Eating .
Sex is exercise and often leads to sleep, so S.EX. reminds us to get adequate Sleep and EXercise. Soup is a combination of water and vegetables, so Soup reminds us to drink plenty of water and eat plenty of vegetables. Two Fisted Eating brings to mind a rather messy mental image of someone stuffing their face with joy, and we're going to keep that joy, but lose the mess. Your stomach is the size of two fists, so Two Fisted Eating reminds us to limit our portions to healthy sizes and to savor our food.
Many times we know what we need to do, but we lack the motivation to do it. More Sex Soup strives not only to give you some helpful guidelines for healthy habits but to encourage you as you develop those healthy habits. Sometimes it helps to know why a healthy habit is important; to know how that habit affects your body and that the habit has been proven to yield results even if we haven't seen those results yet ourselves. Sometimes we just need a good laugh and to know we're not the only one who struggles.
I started my weight loss journey in 2012. I dropped fifty pounds in four years and I still scream for ice cream. Get ready to sleep it, slurp it, move it, munch it, chug it, and change your life.
How to Use This Book
Reading this book is like growing a plant. Picking up the book and opening it is the seed. Well done! You're a gardener. This book consists of four main chapters which are intended to be read over four weeks. Each week we focus on a different set of healthy habits.
Chapter One:
S.EX. is the roots. Before a plant can grow up, it has to grow down and build its foundation. Sleep and exercise make it easier for your body to lose weight and get healthy. Ideally, you should sleep 7-8 hours each night and exercise at least three times per week. Some of you are close to that goal and some of you are laughing your heads off because I just told you to fly to the moon. Not going to happen!
Don't worry about the moon. Focus on doing what you can. Each plant grows at its own pace. For the first week, read Chapter One and do your best to sleep and exercise more than you habitually do today. Take a turn around the block, turn up the music and dance, turn off the TV, then turn down the covers.
Chapter Two:
Soup is the stem. The
