About this ebook

Some people refuse to see everything in life for what it really is and overlook some of the little things that could potentially hurt someone. Awaken to Life shows life from different perspectives such as from being homeless, to being a troubled teen in love or heartbroken, to what it is like in a chaotic household as a child. Challenges like losing someone close and gaining back your strength to get through the day, and what is yet to come in life are covered. In Awaken to Life, no one is invisible, and it describes in detail perspectives that people try to deny exist.

    Change

T o look in the mirror and not recognize who’s looking back at you

To speak and the voice that comes back to your ears

    Is no longer yours

    You’ve changed so much

    You don’t even recognize yourself

    Who are you?

You don’t know who you are

    And neither do I

Who you’ve become is someone so irrecoverably different

    Why did you change?

To not recognize yourself is something terrible

But to not know God is a sin

To not register the knowledge of who you used to be

    To not know yourself

    To be so foreign

    Tis it a crime?

Have you robbed yourself of the truth

Truth being who you used to be

A thief is what you are

    To yourself

    You stole your identity

The old you is no longer

    Change can be good

But you changed for the worse

To see the world with your eyes

To think you feel everything has changed

But what you don’t know is

    The world hasn’t changed

    Only you have

    Looking again in that mirror

    Who is that?

Because no one else knows anymore

    Not even you

    What Lies Beneath

    Heartless

    T he sight of you

    Burns the eyes.

Your soul is cold and black.

    No one likes you,

You say you have friends; however

    They’re fake.

    They lie to you

Because no one could like someone like you.

    Heartless

    Soulless

    Self-centered and evil

    Is what you are.

There’s so much hate for you

Even the devil laughs at your hatred.

    You’re not human,

You are a pawn on the chess board.

    Being used to other’s advantage;

    However you don’t see it.

    Why?

Because you’re too obsessed over yourself

    To even notice others.

    You claim to love others

    But for you it’s impossible.

That horrid body of yours does not contain a heart.

There is no blood flow to you.

After all you don’t have a heart

It’s just a cold black stone.

    Darkness
