About this ebook

The poetry is about lost love, heartbreak, and the difficulties that are faced day to day. It is full of hope, encouragement, and courage to face life even against the hardest decisions that life can give you. It can be a sentence or even just one word that can change a persons perspective at a time that they are facing a difficult period in their life. Giving another person some comfort even through words can change anyone. If a phrase gives another hope and to continue on, then writing these poems is worth the time. Poetry has a way of getting through to even the strong; your emotions and feelings are ripped open, and you find that you cant help but think about that one poem and how much it can help you understand all the beauty that is around. This world that we live in can be cruel and unforgiving, but if we can see the words in poetry, then we can feel them also.

Vicki Senz

Vicki gained the ability to rhyme words after an incident, and preferring the quiet of the night and the beauty of the night with a million stars above you, that is how the title of the book is drawn from, writing under the stars. Living with her best friend, her dog BJ. Wishing that she could see her grandchildren and family more often as they are spread out over Australia. Having a night job is great as it means she doesn’t have to get up early in the morning. Don’t you dare wake her up before her sleep is done. Coffee, white, and two sugars, please, once she is awake. You wouldn’t believe half the difficulties she has been through and that she is still here, which is damn amazing. North of Brisbane is quite beautiful to live in, perfect for her quiet reflections and writing poetry. Give her sentence or lyric from a song and she can, with time, turn it into a poem. Hoping you will enjoy and find encouragement from even one line and it helps you see the miracles that are around you every day.

Under the Stars - Vicki Senz

    A Little Late

At night I am all alone

Crying to myself during the day

Taking all that comes my way

Cutting my feelings to the bone

My heart breaks that little more

    Now more than ever before

Having much love for a another

Is one way to lose the other

    No matter what you do

Say too much you still lose

    Doesn’t care what you feel

Your mind now closed to any appeal

    Everything comes too late

    Next day with another date

    Year after year roll by

All you can say is goodbye

    All To Myself

    Day in day out

    It is the same thing

    No one to talk to

    You got expect this

    When you live alone

    As much has you try

    To feel glad that

    You are even alive

    There is still something missing

    Wondering want is amiss

    Day turns into night

    The moon rises above

It too is alone without the stars

When it goes, comes the light

Sun rises with a new day

    Part of me is dead

    I lost it long ago

    Trying to bring it back

Is just a waste of time

    It is gone for good

    My life is so empty

    Nothing to do

    It is no wonder

That I am who I am

    Alone and on my own

    Always

    Always be kind and nice

    Show everyone your best side

You will be rewarded for this act

It will come back to you

    When you least expect it

You sit wait for the return

    Wise words from someone

    Who didn’t know the pain

Of what the world can do

To someone that can be a little

Too nice for everyone who is

    Out for their own gain

When you do start to be nasty

They turn and look at you

    Call you all different names

    This is way things are

Stab in the back and a slap across

The face that has gone hard

    The world today is cold

The love once there is gone

You try to be all everyone wants

    Lose yourself in the mess

The one person you can rely on

    Is the one in
