Write the Vision: a Journey to Forgiveness in Poems and Other Celebrations

About this ebook
Benjamin Edgar Williams
When I was a boy I seemed happy. I wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have a bad life. I had no alcoholic absentee father or drug crazed mother. My parents loved me and my sister. My parents did the best they could. Mom took me to church, taught me all the right things but there are some things mothers and well-meaning dads can’t save you from. There are some hurts they cannot understand and some they must never know. I grew appearing to have it all together, when in fact; I carried hurts and secrets. I had tears that had long ceased being wet and external. So as I grew I stored, secured and stuffed those “feelings”. I built tremendous fortresses to harbor, isolate and restrict these intruders. I was ok or so I thought. In manhood I resigned myself to exist and move through life on pretense and lies; I managed relationships in disguise and costume in an effort to continue my illusion of wellness. When in fact I was injured and the festering secrets threaten to consume me. In time I ran out of room to store the hurt and the pieces no longer fit. I was broken and wanted to give up. God sent help. I had no heaven unfolding epiphany nor angels delivering revelations of a new kingdom come but a vision that were the results the tears of that little boy that reached the heart of God. The poems of Write The Vision are my song and my expression of journey. I trust that as you read the words, you heart will hear the melody and understand that our “child’s voice” has God’s ear.
