Donnette D. Wheelock

Donnette Wheelock has been fascinated with poetry since she was a child. She has read poetry and written her own poetry for years. She appreciates the succinct expression of deeply-felt emotion in poetry. Her writing styles vary. At times, she carefully crafts a poem, revising and editing, to get the words just right. Other times, the words come to her unexpectedly, and the poem arrives nearly fully-formed. Whether these poems come from within her, from the universe, or from divine inspiration, she believes her poetry is the pronunciation of her heart. When she was a teacher, she incorporated poetry into all grade levels and subjects she taught. She currently owns and operates a small business with her husband and resides in Mankato, Minnesota, surrounded by far-reaching farm fields, softly-winding rivers, and the natural beauty that is often her inspiration.
