About this ebook

In his first collection of poetry, Theodore Goyins puts into words the expressions of one man and what many men may feel but don't say. This anthology gives you a glimpse into the heart, mind, and soul of what men may be feeling. Theodore expresses himself freely in the areas of Faith, Family, Love, and Life, which are all areas of life men encounter while taking this journey. His life experiences have allowed him to gain a better understanding of his emotions and how they can be expressed in a positive way. Theodore believes that every man can find an outlet to express what it is that is on their heart and mind. He has chosen to use a pen as his form of expression to write these personal poems that give the reader a glimpse into the life of one man.

This book is dedicated to God, my family,

and all who have loved me along the way.

    Foreword

A very wise man, Bishop Vernon Lamb of 1st Church of God in Bermuda, shared an observation that re-shaped my life as a minister forever. He stated, "there are some ministers that say what God says…and then there are other ministers that say what God means’. Clearly I resolved that I wanted to become a minister that declares what God means! It seems Theodore is similar. God has gifted him with the language of life and its unique and wonderful to see as you envelope the poems.

In keeping, as Theodore shared from his heart on so many arenas of life; I realized this was a perfect example of a ‘man capable of communicating the very essence and meaning of life intimately and globally without fear of censure or rejection’. There are times Theodore seems to walk us to a private locked door of life, slips us inside the room where both boldly and gently he discussed pain, joy, loss, gain, mishap and miracles!

How was he able to do so? Because he became available (all of him) to God and God’s plan for his life. And a part of his life involves the experience of going through to help others go through! Theodore is so young…in fact at times he seems too young to be so old. Yet his life has been hand-picked and designed by God to experience and then share his experience in a way that others would be helped when their turn in life comes. It’s amazing how many poems were birthed out of his physical illnesses from a child through early adulthood. And the joy is Theodore has been successful in turning the bad into good. When you read this book, you will see yourself in the poems, you will hear your voice in the poems, you will become challenged, stretched and pulled to understand that all things really do work together for the good…. You will know that the mess of your life can become a message.
