First and foremost, I’d like to thank God for showing me time and again that with faith, effort, prayer, and humility, the impossible is possible.
To my mother, Edythe Anderson: There are no words to describe what you mean to me. Thank You
almost sounds like an insult. It does not begin to express my gratitude for all that you’ve given me. I am the person that I am today because of your love, kindness, discipline, and desire to make me want to strive to be the best. Thank you for always believing in me, even when I did not know how to believe in myself! I am extremely grateful for you. I love you Mom, and there is nothing you can do about it!
I’d like to thank my father, Carl Anderson, for all of his sacrifices, unconditional love and unparalleled level of Common Sense. I think about you and miss you desperately every single day. I hope that I am the kind of man you envisioned that I’d grow up to be. I strive every day, with every breath I take, to be the kind of loving servant you were. You will live forever in my heart. I love you Dad.
To my brother, Aaron: You’ve been a surrogate father to me. You’ve taught me invaluable lessons that I apply in my life to this very day. Thank you for taking me in when I had no place to go. While many people find it very easy to say how they feel, you show me that you love me with your actions and your sacrifices on my behalf. When I hear the song Wind beneath My Wings,
I can’t think of a song more appropriate to express how I feel about you. You always put me first in everything, and have never asked for single thing in return. I can never repay you for your kindness. I can never repay you for your selflessness. All I can do is show the world that your sacrifices were not in vain.
To Trish, Kiarra, and AJ: I love you very much! I hope that this book shows you what God can do with someone who isn’t exactly what others think he should be. I also hope it gives you insight into what it means to pursue goals, even when they may seem impossible. Over the years, I’ve learned to stop asking how,
and I’ve trusted that God wouldn’t put anything on my heart that he didn’t plan to help me achieve. Whatever he’s given you, don’t run from it, RUN TOWARDS IT!
To my loving Grandmother, Mee Mar
: As a child I held your hand, going everywhere with you. It is with such great pride that I’m able to give you my hand to hold onto when you’re feeling weak. There is no way for me to tell you how happy I am that you are able to see firsthand, who I am as a man, and what I’ve been able to accomplish because of your love and guidance. Thank you for Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, Mercurochrome®, Fletcher’s Castoria®, and unconditional love.
Aunt Gigi: Thank you for Star Trek, thank you for horror movies, and most importantly, thank you for being objective and honest when I needed it the most. It’s definitely not easy being the youngest; and, I think that’s why we’ve always had a kinship. You knew what it was like to grow up as the baby in the household of spectacular people. You also knew what it was like to succeed under that pressure, and those lessons have been passed onto me from you. I love you so much!
Janay: Thank you for being everything I never knew that I always needed. Your love and support have been fuel to me when I didn’t think that I could go any further. I’ve known you for all of my adult life, and I take great pleasure in knowing that I’m going to know you forever. I love you.
To my best friend, Jeanine: Your friendship has been invaluable. You’re my sister and I can’t imagine life without you. You’re a blessing that I will never take for granted. Thank you for all that you’ve done for me. I’ll try everything to be worthy of your love and friendship.
To the Daniels family, the Moncrief family, the Johnson family, and the Jolley family: Thank you for being my extended family. Thank you for being family that would never abandon me. They say that blood is thicker than water, but love is bigger than blood. In your own special way, you have given me more love, more encouragement, and more support than certain people with whom I share genetic code. For this I am eternally grateful.
To J. Taylor of http://nsydeout.com: You’ve seen me through some very difficult times. Thank you for your objectivity, your honesty, your fresh perspective, and your friendship. Your art is amazing, but your true talent is painting truth onto people’s souls. God bless you and your ever-expanding family.
To Hurricane Dave: You said that firing me was one of the hardest things you’ve ever been asked to do. Rest assured you did me the Greatest Favor anyone has ever done for me. I didn’t know it then, nor did I understand it, but in retrospect my mission was too big for me to be the background in anyone else’s foreground. You set me free to pursue everything that I never knew I was capable of. For that I thank you. I’m proud of you & everything you’ve accomplished at http://perdiemcard.com.
Thanks to Ken Johnson, Kelly Mac, Lorain Ballard-Morrill and the good people at Clear Channel Radio Philadelphia for the undying support and opportunities you’ve given me. It means the world to me.
Thanks to everyone who has embraced me and encouraged me through Blog Talk Radio! Thanks to Stephanie Tru, Ronin Martin, T. Smitty and others for your undying support.
To Fonzworth Bentley: Thank you for your prayers, your consistency, and your brilliant advice. You helped me when my faith was wavering. For that I will always be grateful. It is my sincere hope that people understand that you are more than just your fashion sense. You are an incredible human being, and an amazing artist. My prayer is that you continue to grow, as you become a blessing to the world.
To Mr. Rodney Perry: When I first told you that I was writing this book, you told me, I hope you’re prepared for the journey you’re going to take. What you’re about to do is going to change the world!
To be honest, I didn’t believe you. Most importantly I don’t think I believed in me that much. You never wavered, and I thank you!
To Headkrack at http://krackblog.com: Thank you for being a true friend
