About this ebook

Detective James Kelley’s investigation into the death of Jocelyn Bennett has resulted in another body, but little evidence that could lead him to the killer. The two deaths are tied, he’s certain of that. Now, if he could only prove it.

To add to his growing frustrations, Detective Kelley is getting hooked on the sexy Alicia. She’s everything a man could ask for in bed. Gorgeous, willing, and always ready. So far, there have been no strings attached, but how long can that last?

Detective Kelley needs to follow the clues, catch a killer, and put some distance between himself and this case, before it’s too late.

Kelley called Paul as he raced from Alicia’s house to his car.

This had better be good, Paul grumbled, half asleep. It’s barely four in the morning, for Pete’s sake.

It is good. Meet me at the station, we’ve got some work to do.

Kelley hung up on Paul’s groan and got behind the wheel. He wanted to head straight over to Gwen’s and confront her, but he needed the evidence to back him up, first. And, if his hunch was correct, he needed the evidence to convict her of her sister’s death.

Thanks, Kelley said, taking a bracing sip of coffee before gesturing to the table. A hunch, based on a piece of information I got from Alicia.

Kelley spent ten minutes explaining about the shoes, his dream, and what he thought it all meant. Before he’d finished, Paul was at the computer checking Gwen’s Facebook page.

What are you hoping to find? Kelley asked.

Paul held up his hand to stop the questions, as he continued to scroll through Gwen’s photos. Kelley watched over his shoulder, again having the feeling that this Gwen didn’t
