Their plane landed at Vancouver International Airport, where they boarded a helicopter to take them the rest of the way to Whistler. Daria had never been to Vancouver before and enjoyed flying over the mountains. Snow-capped, towering over the city, it was beautiful. She wondered how open-minded the locals were to witches.

Do you know where Veronica is staying? Anton asked. He’d spent several hours on the phone, conducting business.

She always books a suite at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Can you get us in there? She’d never quite get used to calling the witch Veronica. She’d called herself Monica when she’d killed Daria’s father. Daria would call her that when she killed the bitch.

Anton nodded, pulling out his cell phone. Daria thought he’d call the hotel, but instead he called his assistant and had her do it.

Their helicopter landed at the small local airport where they were met by a car that took them to the hotel. They bypassed the lobby and were shown straight to their suite. Daria had never experienced the privileges money offered before. Too much of this and it would be hard to go back to standing in lines again.

What do you want to do first? Anton asked.

Daria stood at the window, watching a shower of snow falling from the sky. Everything was covered in the powdery white stuff. Tree limbs bowed down with the weight of it.
