The Tower - Lisa Anderson
Chapter 1:
The office was quiet. Jared sat by himself trying to figure out the next job that they could do. The team of paranormal researchers were looking for a good place to do a major documentary series. Jared had been going over the accounts, all of them were low. The place needed to be one that they could work for an extended period and get a steady income and soon. They were known as a group that wanted to prove the paranormal not just do a quick spook show. Jared was determined that the proof would be valid and stand up to investigation and he was not willing to compromise on the work that was done. Jared wanted to be able to be known as a group that will help with the cleansing of locations and helping others to move on. Some of the other members of his team weren’t as focused on trying to help others. Their leader, Jared was sitting in his office racking his brain trying to get an idea. When the phone rang causing him to jump. Seekers of the Truth, this is Jared. How can I help you today?
He grabbed a notepad out of habit.
A female voice came through, soft but with a strength that was hidden. My name is Katana. If you are truly seekers of the truth, will you meet me at Hillsboro Tower. Bring your entire crew with you and I will give you an adventure that you can’t imagine. You will need your wits and an open heart. They will be your guide in this adventure. I have bought it. I am giving your group and only your group a chance to go through it before the church comes through with a team to help the spirits cross over. I will send a package to you with the information.
When would you like us there?
Jared said. He had been making a series of notes ... Hillsboro Tower. This would be wonderful. This would be the chance of a lifetime for them. This would be a great investigation and he would be getting paid to do what he loved the most ... help with getting proof that there is a truth to what others see as a fast buck.
On Friday at 3pm. A courier will bring the blueprints, recent documents and a check for you. There are some recent photos that have been taken within the last week.
Katana said calmly and hung up. She had found the right team.
Jared hung up. He couldn’t believe his luck. Hillsboro Tower, this is better than anything he or any member of the team had thought of. He sent a text message to his team. Come to the office ... won’t believe this ... a new job ... will explain – Jared – urgent!
he shook his head, dusty brown hair falling over his eyes. His green eyes shined with excitement. Hillsboro Tower. The Devil’s Playground some called it due to the activity.
An hour later, the entire team was sitting in the office. The courier had shown up and dropped the package off. It sat on the desk, unopened. Jared, you have a new job for us? This have something to do with it?
A young woman asked. Her short blond hair was less than professional looking. It looked like she had just gotten out of bed. She had the attitude that she had better things to do.
You aren’t going to believe this. A little over an hour ago I got a call from a young lady named Katana. She bought the Hillsboro Tower. She wants us ... us to go in with her and investigate it.
Everyone was looking
