The Beginning:

The world was young. Mephistopheles and God stood at the edge of the heavenly realm looking down at the planet. Mephistopheles had been the prosecutor when those who crossed over. He wasn’t evil, he wanted to make sure that those who were in God’s house deserved to be there. Humans were starting to gather in groups that would later be towns and city states. You are willing to go through with the deal? Fall into the underworld with some of the angels to be the keeper of the ones that are unfit for this realm?

No direct intervention, only the half breeds have influence. When the time is right, I can choose a young lady as my or a family member of mine wife. They must be given the choice to ascend, stay on the earth realm or descend. They will have a normal life and at the same time be protected to where they are unknown to man, correct? Agreed. Mephistopheles and his band of angels dove from the heavens to the opening into the underworld that had been created for them. While they would keep their looks and some of their powers, they would have to work within the confines of the deal. There would be no direct interference but influence.

When the humans began to worship more than one god, both Mephistopheles and God could show influence on the world through the different priest and the oracles that were around. Then there was the persecution of those that believed in one god but the monotheism hadn’t taken hold. Soon people had other things on their mind than religion.

When monotheism started to take hold, it was in the time of the pharaohs. The people that were starting to believe were in the time of Akhenaten. Then the old gods came back into power.
