Welcome, readers, to the January issue of Spaceports & Spidersilk. The holiday season is ending, and soon the lights, the tinsel, and all the entertainments of the December festivities will soon be just another set of memories.

And yet, sometimes it is all too easy to be haunted by such memories. A person can lie in bed, unable to sleep, replaying and worrying over things that happened. Did the outfit they wore to the holiday party really look as good on them as they thought at the time? If they had moved just one step to the left while dancing, would they still have caused punch to spill all over their teacher? If they had performed a puppet show for a different audience, would the results still have been the same?

It is natural, I think, to second-guess and wonder. Sometimes a person can feel trapped, as though not only their past actions, but their future ones are inescapable, as if they are fated to live and act to a specific, limited pattern.

In this issue you will find stories and poems that deal with people trying to change their past, their future, and even the identities they seem to have been born into. You will also find a new Sneezy story, along with other fun stories and poems.

After all, sometimes it’s better to stop worrying about your past, your future, your identity... and just immerse yourself in the lives and adventures of others.
