Welcome to the January issue of Spaceports & Spidersilk. It is cold here in the space station, but the whispers of the travelors passing through hint as much at worlds where warm weather reigns, as at vistas of ice and snow.

If this issue has a theme, I think it would be best described as butting in. Here you will find stories of people who go places it isn’t safe to go, and do things it isn’t safe to do. You will read tales of (possible?) alien invasions, and (probable?) alien contagions, but, without a certain degree of nosiness, how can any species make outside contact?

In the end, I suppose it all comes down to how you treat other creatures when you find them. Will they become servants, enemies, pets? And how will they react to the way they are treated?

Cuddle down, read, and find out.

I banged my foot against the metal of the Rocketblaster to put out the fire on my pants. I let Old One-Eye got too close that time. At least I didn't skip the fire retardant dip today. I would've been toast, and my brother would've had to tell mom I got fried to a crisp getting birthday cake. Alistar cranked the speed and dove under a bridge.

Mom would be steamed anyhow when she figured out we made a supply run without telling her. I hoped she'd ease up when our little brother tasted chocolate cake for the first time.
