INTRODUCTION
Its dessert time and the cast iron skillet is the perfect skillet for the job. The baking is phenomenal in a cast iron skillet. Cake, pies and cobblers are delicious. So get your skillet out and oil it for that delectable dessert.
The cast iron skillet you use for desserts should never be used for cooking meats and savory meals. Your cast iron skillet can take on the flavors of whatever you are cooking. I’m sure you would not want your cake tasting like steak. You can salt scrub your skillet if you only have one skillet. It should also be oiled and used only for baking or for the dessert of your choice. If possible get two skillets, one for meats and one for desserts.
As with other cast iron dishes, the desserts prepared will also be wonderful. The heat is evenly conducted with cast iron, so baking is a perfect skillet to use as a baking dish.
The cast iron skillet creates homey and comfort desserts. The desserts are easy to make and are not time consuming. Desserts are the perfect thing for beginners to cook in cast iron, but they are also perfect for the novice. A little flour, sugar, milk and fruit can end in a delicious cobbler or tart. Cakes cook wonderful in cast iron. The contained heat evens out the cooking process for a cake. Your cakes will come out beautifully browned and delectable. Always preheat your skillet whether
