About years ago, my mother gave me a convection toaster oven for Christmas and I was so happy because finally I have one that I could use to reheat and toast my hot pockets and frozen pizzas. Naïve as you may think that I am, those where the only cooking related functions that I thought toaster ovens were made to do! So almost every day, my toaster was put to work by simply making my buttered toasts, reheating my pastry pockets and those banana bread toaster oven mixes.

So one day, friend from work brought us roasted potatoes and baked lamb chops for lunch and I asked for her recipe. She told me that she cooked everything using her toaster oven! You can say that my mind was blown! That really scrumptious meal lit 10,000 lightbulbs in my mind and it made me really curious about what other delectable treats I can make using my toaster oven back home.

Soon I started experimenting and trying out recipes and I was surprised to find out that you can do so much using your toaster! And because I know there are a lot of you out there who are just like me, clueless about how versatile this humble kitchen appliance is, it inspired me to make this book for you!

Chapter One: What is an Oven Toaster?

Did you know that oven toasters have been around longer than those pop-up bread toasters? And while pop-up toasters have become really popular over the years, they are not that versatile and honestly, I do not find them useful at all. It is because I do not see the value and the reason for buying a kitchen appliance that practically does one function. So I was totally thrilled and excited when my mom gave me a convection oven toaster for the Holidays. Because I now have something that doesn’t just toast bread slices – but something that can heat my favorite frozen pastry treats and make my pizza. Little did I know, my toaster oven was more useful that I initially thought would be.
