    Introduction

Fasting isn't just about food or substance. You can fast from anything including social media, technology, exercise, food, sex, alcohol and so many other things. About the only thing you really cannot fast from is water. If you fasted from water, you'd end up dehydrated and in really bad shape. Don't fast from water.

Modern society has forgotten about fasting, but fasting is a freeing exercise. It has been used since the dawn of time and for good reason. If you're Christian, you'll find fasting all throughout the bible. If you're not Christian and practice a different type of spirituality or religion, you'll likely discover fasting in the history of your beliefs.

It dates back to the beginning of humanity because fasting has the ability to help you discover so many things. It can be spiritual, health related, calming, used to build self-discipline or a number of other things. Fasting should be something you practice regularly, whether through intermittent fasting or the occasional fast every few months or weeks.

I fast every single day and I have done other types of fasts, as well. My daily fasts are intermittent fasts where I allow my body 16 hours off from eating or any type of consumption. I consume all of my food and beverage in just eight hours of the day. I don't limit myself during that time and if I am hungry, I eat.

I have also done juice fasting, smoothie fasting and even soup fasting. I have fasted from one meal per day or even fasted where I ate just one meal a day. I have also fasted from social media, from sex, from all technology and from many other things. Once, I fasted from all alcohol for 30 days.

Fasting is a freedom exercise. When you fast, you are building enough self-awareness, self-discipline and willpower
