Reluctant Missionary

About this ebook
Josh wasn’t looking forward to going on a Mormon mission since he wanted to go to college directly after high school. He was also afraid his high school sweetheart would not wait for him.
His parents were devout Mormons so they came unglued when he said he didn’t want to go on a mission. Although it wasn’t compulsorily, it was expected from young Mormon men getting out of high school.
His father threatened him with not paying for his college education and not letting him live with them after he graduated from high school.
This short story is about what happens when a young man is faced with not pleasing his parents and following his own wishes.

My dad looked at me like I was I was crazy. He was dressed in an expensive business suit and was eating breakfast before going to work. He was a very rich man and was high up in the hierarchy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). He ran a successful investment business in Salt Lake City.
He frowned at me and said, You always wanted to be a Mormon missionary and saved coins in your piggy bank to go on a mission when you got older. Your older brother went on a mission and had a great time and did the will of the Lord.
