About this ebook

Joe wanted to get the kids a dog since he felt all children should have a dog.  He had already talked his four wives into making playgrounds in the backyards of both of their houses.  His brother had talked about getting them a dog before he died.  Joe had taken his brother's place and married his four widows and adopted the six children.

Joe was just a big kid himself in a lot of ways, so the kids loved him.  Beth was against getting a dog since he would shed hair everywhere.  Samantha thought it was a wonderful idea, so she and Joe went to the pound and found a medium sized young dog.  Actually there were two that were brother and sister, so she couldn't make up her mind which to get.  She decided to bring adopt both of the dogs.

Of course, the kids were thrilled to have dogs to play with.  Even Beth started to warm up to having the dogs around.  Then they moved to Arizona and the dogs started acting like ranch dogs instead of lap dogs.

This book is suitable for all age groups.

A Dog For The Kids - Franklin Eddy

    Prologue

I walked slowly up the sidewalk to a grand old mansion close to the college in Colorado Springs.  I had found out that my brother lived here with his five wives and was looking forward to meeting him. I was wearing cowboy garb, a black hat, red cowboy shirt, and black jeans with black cowboy boots.  I had just moved here from Oregon and hadn't seen my brother since we had been separated when we were small boys.

I was looking forward to seeing him again, but what I found were five grieving widows since my twin brother had gotten killed in a horse riding incident two years before.  The women were surprised at how much I looked like their dead husband, but I didn't want to give them any ideas that I was willing to step into his shoes.

But things have a way of taking you in a direction that you don't expect, so before I knew what was happening, I had taken my brother's place and had four wives with children.

My brother Ben had two blue-eyed, blond-hair twin wives and two black-eyed
