The Diamond Quest: The Chronicles of Omodrome

An intriguing tale of six children who are put in an impossible situation when a sorceress abducts their beloved grandmother and demands that they must go to the magical world of Omodrome and find the seven magical diamonds and return to her.
After many amazing adventures, the children were finally able to recover the magical diamonds. It is at this point when a mysterious character comes along and propagandizes to be the real villain.
He was using the sorceress for his own intentions. Thereafter, the sorceress and her sister who also happens to be the childrens abducted grandmother escaped from the clutches of the evil villain and went on a quest for the Torch of Knowledge which is the only thing that can counter the magical diamonds and disable it. On the other hand the six children who are now prisoners of the evil villain, mysteriously escaped without trace. In their continued search for their grandmother they underwent another series of adventures. All this while, their grandmother and the sorceress were in their adventurous search for the Torch of Knowledge. Finally when they found the Torch of Knowledge, the children happen to reunited with them. Finally a huge battle takes place for the soul of Omodrome.
It remains to be a question, that who is the true victor of the conflict.?

Chapter 1

Mysterious Abduction

A sublime and serene sight of a horizon where there was thousands of twigs and branches of hickory and red wood, as well as Oak Tree. Sunlight was like a beacon passing through the endless leaves not far from here there was a National Highway which stretched for miles and at the moment no pedestrian or vehicle passed by. It was then that a red 4X4 vehicle rushed by inside. Inside two Adults accompanied by six children were going somewhere important.

One of these Adults who were seated in the front seat had a long face, fair complexion, brown asymmetrical eyes and black hair. He said, Now boys, no tricks! I want no trouble with you guys, especially Ross and you too Ben. We are going to your grandma’s place. Be nice to her. And listen to your big brother Jason. Naturally the boys said, Yes, in a dull way. Now the other Adult who was driving the car was a Blond Hair, round face, symmetrical blue eyes and fair complexion. She said, Ok, girls you heard your uncle Robert explaining the rules. Now I would really appreciate that you follow them too. I don’t want to give the bad impression on you folks who are busy on their business trip. Jennifer, since you are the big sister, I want you to take responsibility and don’t do anything crooked like last time. And Jennifer said, That was so not me Aunt Veronica. And Veronica said, Ok, Jennifer, I get the picture."

While they had this discussion, they didn’t notice that time went by and they had reached their destination. The vehicle stopped at a small country side cottage which was painted blue and white. It was a two story building and there came out its only occupant who was a middle aged women, she had a sweat face with love in her eyes. As soon she saw her beloved grand children she rushed the gates and gave them a big hug and she said, My, my, haven’t you grown up through out these three years. Jennifer said, Do you really think so, grandma. Am I old enough to go to the prom? Grandma said, If you want to believe that then it is fine. Now why don’t you all come and get cosy. I have some hot cocoa and some baked cookies, my secrete recipe. Veronica said, I really wish you would share that secrete recipe. The kids are really crazy about your cookies. I and Roberts have to go on a trip. Its official matter, I hope you do understand. Grandma said, Of course, we’ll be ok, you go ahead and don’t worry about us." And so Veronica and Roberts got into the car and drove away.

After they had their favourite cookies and cocoa, they began to play in the lawn. Grandma had a exceptionally large lawn which was ideal for all kinds of games. The kids were having the time of their lives while Grandma watched them play in her rocking chair. Soon it was dark and all of them went inside. Ross said, Grandma, why don’t you tell us a story. You always have a good story. Grandma said, Ok, I have a story, but what about the girls? Ross said, What about them, who cares? Grandma said, No, no, it’s not nice to say things like that about your cousins. Boys like stories with a lot of action. But that’s not the case with girls and speaking of them, where are they? She called out to them, Jennifer, Jessie, Sally, where are you? From the upstairs down they came in their night gowns. One of them said, Grandma, Jessie, Sally and I were just getting ready for bed. Why did you call us? Grandma said, We were just getting ready to tell a bed time story. And I was just explaining to the boys that you may like to hear a different kind of story. Jessie said, What kind of a story are you going to tell? I like a story with a princess and a lot of adventure. Grandma said, Well, let me see I might have a perfect story for all of you. Well why don’t we all sit by the fire place and get comfortable?"

So the children and their Grandma sat down on the fire place and listened to a beautiful and heroic tale. Thereafter they retired. The next day the children were playing in the lawn Grandma was busy cleaning up the house. It was then that they heard a mysterious sound. It was coming from inside the house. Naturally, the children went to investigate. But nothing appeared to have changed. Jason called out Grandma where are you? What was that loud sound? And there came Grandma down the stairs she said, What sound? in a very different tone and her eyes have changed very much. There was something mysterious going on. Grandma said, I have nothing, why don’t you go and play, I have a lot of work to do." So the children agreed and went back to the lawn and they engaged in their usual play.

It was late afternoon about half past four when Grandma called out to the children. Come inside, there is milk and cookies on the table. So all of them went inside to have milk and cookies. Grandma came into the dining hall with a cup of tea and she was still the same. There was something odd about her eyes and the way she looked at the children. Jessie said, You still don’t remember the loud noise in the morning. Grandma said, I don’t know what on Earth are you talking about my dear. There was no such noise. Ross said, Why does your eyes look so different? It used to be so calm and pleasant. Grandma said, Ok you guys, I think I have to tell you a secrete. I want you all to come with me into my room. There you will understand the answers to your question. And so all of them went into Grandma’s room. Grandma said, Sally, will you close the door please? And Sally did close the door like she was told. On the drawing table there was a perfectly symmetric stick, it was black in color. Grandma picked up the stick and she pointed it to the wall. No sooner a beam was fired from the stick to the wall. The wall then disappeared and became something like a portal. Grandma said, Don’t be afraid, I want you to follow me, ok! And all of them followed Grandma to the portal. In a second they were standing in another world with a purple sky and on the ground were giant trees without leaves, but only twigs and branches. There was also a stable storm where volts of lightening were falling down frequently on to the tree’s twigs. Despite this horrible world, they kept on following Grandma and to their amazement after some distance they came upon an elderly woman who looked just like their Grandma. The children looked at each other wondering how can this be happening and suddenly the impostor who brought them here laughed in an evil way. She glowed and changed. Now she was dressed in black dress with a tall cone hat. She said, Greetings… Welcome to my world. This is the world of Omodrome. I am Cathrina and I happen to be a witch and from this moment on you are all my prisoners. Jason said, What do you want with us? Cathrina said, An interesting question! I have been waiting for this moment for so many years. Apparently, my father was a great wizard. His name was ‘Alaric’! He wanted to create a legacy which would out last his life time. So he conducted a magic ceremony where he sacrificed his most precious procession and so delighted by his sacrifice a great wizard’s spirit appeared who said, Oh Alaric! You have done a great deed! I will reward you by these seven diamonds which are magical. They are so powerful that you can achieve anything with it. But you have to careful. Your mind must be not filled with temptation or desire. If you do so, I am afraid that the diamonds that the diamonds will disappear and go to various parts of Omodrome! So, do I have your word? Without any doubt my father replied that he would do his best to use the diamonds appropriately as possible and so the great wizard gave my father the seven magic diamonds. Four years we had the magic diamond in our home. I also had an elder sister who was called Serena! When she was old enough my father ordered her to visit the mortal world. She obeyed and went to the mortal world but she fell in love with a mortal and never came back. Then one day, while my father was on his death bed, I was looking after him when I saw something shining in my face. It was the seven diamonds. I don’t know how, but it was that moment when I had a temptation to hold the diamond! And so I went to the table were the diamond were. I got hold of the diamond. It was at that moment when I had the temptation steel it from my father and to make it my own. So I hid it and started walking towards the door. It was at that moment when my father called out, Cathrina where are you going? I am very thirsty, give me water. So, I replied, I will be back soon father. I have something to do first My father said, But before you do that, look at your hand. You will find something interesting! When I heard this I was very astonished. So anyway I looked at my hand and found the diamonds were all gone. My father said, You were trying to steel the diamond, weren’t you? You will never find the diamond! You have to wait for Serenas grand children to grow up! Only they can find it and you must do this to restore my reputation. With these words my father left me and he went to heaven. I had to wait all these year so that you could grow up and find the seven magic diamonds. And now the time has finally arrived!

You see, your Grandma is not really a human being. She is a witch like me. When we were young she was always the perfect daughter to my father and I hate her for that reason. It is because of her that I didn’t get those Seven Magical Diamonds. She persuaded my father that I was not worthy of those diamonds. And then she went to the mortal world and lived a good life and I Cathrina was left with nothing. But now I want revenge and I shall have it. You are to go to six worlds to find one diamond in each world. It will be not easy. You will encounter a lot of obstacles. Before you go I want to mention some restrictions. You shall not desire anything that you see in those worlds. If you do you are wasting your time. You must also remember that your mind is the greatest strength but if you don’t control it can become your deadliest enemy."

Hearing this Sally asked, Why do you need these diamonds in the first place? You seem to have a very good magic wand. Cathrina said, You with the golden curly hair and eyes with enthusiasm. You have asked a very good question. Are you familiar with the socerous stone? It is famous in the mortal world because its said to have the magical power and whoever possesses can be immortal. The seven diamonds are ten times powerful than the saucer stone and if I get possession of it I will be the most powerful whichever and I can even change something I don’t like. Jennifer said, That’s ok, why have you chosen us for this task, why don’t you do it yourself? Cathrina said, Jennifer, with the red silky hair and eyes with evergreen curiosity. You have been chosen because you at your tender age are the purest in your mind and it is necessary that you have absolute controle of your mind which I lack because of my attitude. Jason said, What will happen to Grandma when we are gone. Cathrina said, Don’t worry Merlin, your Grandmother will be safe with me here until you get back. Come with me."

And the six of them walked with the witch Cathrina until they came to a place that looked like a place which once had a bridge of some sort. But now it is not there. Cathrina said, This is far as I can go. You must go past that bridge. Ross said, What bridge, we see no bridge just a gap and an endless pit. Cathrina said, Patience, Ross. And then a lightening dropped from the sky and it became the bridge. Cathrina said, This is the bridge of lightening as you can see. Beyond this bridge you will find a rainbow. Step on the rainbow and you will reach the Kingdom of ‘Larsen Knot’. It is there that you will find the first diamond. And when you get the diamond use it opens a portal to the next world. Now go." And so the children crossed the lightening bridge which thereafter a colour filled rainbow came down from the sky. The six of them started to climb up the rainbow. After that they reached their destination ‘Larsen Knot’.

The children faced many perils in the journey ahead. What will they be and how difficult can it get? For now the journey continues.

Chapter 2

A Tale of Larsen Knot

It was a beautiful Valley with green Meadows filling the whole horizon. They sky was not blue but pink in color. All kind of sweet birds were singing their sweat song. The six strangers walked in amazement. They had no idea what to expect. Jason said, So this is Geomore.

They continued to walk down the beautiful meadows when a few men in ancient uniform called them to stop. The men came close and interrogated them, Who are you? You are not from these parts. Ben said, We came from the village near by. The two men who appeared to be soldiers said, This is the Kingdom of Larsen Knot and you are tress passing. You must come before our king Geomore. And so they were escorted by the soldiers to their Master. To their astonishment the King was not in a palace but tend! The soldiers respectfully called out, Oh mighty King Geomore! We have brought six tress passers. They say they came from the village near by! Hearing this, a Majestic figure on his four, came out with all his Majesty. It was not human, but a lion! The lion spoke in a bold voice, What brings you here? I sense you are innocent. Do not be intimidated by my figure. It is curse that I have long endeavored because of my pride and terrible over confidence. Jason said, As your soldiers said, We came from the village near by. We were just passing through. Geomore said, Ok, Ok, you came from the village but I think you are looking for something important, are you not? Ross said, We were looking for magical diamond. We need it really bad. Geomore said, What? The magical diamond you say. Why that lies in the hands of my enemy. Ben said, Would you help us to find this magical diamond? Geomore said, I would have to think about it. Jason said, Your majesty what are you doing here, If I may ask? Geomore said, I was on a hunting expedition. It is one of my favorite pass times. Anyway why don’t you go and refresh yourself. We will continue this discussion of your generous proposal." With those words the lion king went back into his tent.

Later that night, all the others were fast asleep. But, Ben was finding it difficult to sleep. So he went outside to get some fresh air. He gazed into the night sky. It was filled with stars. At that moment two soldiers approached Ben from the front. One of them asked, why don’t you come with us? We would like you to show you something. You might find it very intriguing." Hearing this Ben was very baffled. But nevertheless he agreed
