THE FAIRY SERPENT

The three girls were skilled with a needle and thread, and liked to do embroidery. Each morning, when their father left the house, they would say to him, “Dearest Papa, please bring back some wildflowers that we can use to inspire our needlework!”

The old man always did as they asked, but one day, he couldn’t find any wildflowers by the path. He ventured into the forest, where he came upon a pond with many blossoms growing beside it.

The man picked some for his daughters – but he didn’t know that the pond was home to a fairy serpent! The magical creature came out of the water and wrapped his body around
