About this ebook
Being "committed" to his textbooks seemingly opens Adam to "all sorts of criticisms" at school, but he refrain from letting it "bother him." Things seem to shift a bit after he decides "an out-of-state university would be a better choice" and leaves Chicago, spending time with his aunt's family "in a Detroit suburb."He feels an "overwhelming excitement" upon arriving on campus. He starts spending some time with "Ms. Daly," but a diagnosis of pregnancy evokes a few questions for him, particularly when she decides to "keep the baby." Adam explains to his parents and his mother says that given the circumstance, the "pregnancy must be meant to be but he hesitates about the possibility of marriage. Adam has "feelings" for Lisa, yet from his perspective, the "timing" seem to be "all wrong." When he meets his son, he tells Lisa, "Nothing that I've experienced in Michigan has made me happier." While Lisa becomes "more familiar with the duties of being a full time mom," Adam is "busy. . .with his classes" and they both focus on "raising their child." As the work progresses, Adam and Lisa confront a range of experiences. They begin to feel "closer" to one another, but his remaining time at college includes seeing "various girls," some of which tend to want "more than he can offer."
Philmore Butts
Philmore Butts is an American author from the Southern region of the U.S.. While being raised in the north, he had plans of becoming a successful artist. Philmore attended public schools in Michigan, where he graduated and went on to attend a private Catholic university. Unsure about what career path he wanted to follow, Phil left school and found himself working several odd jobs. After years of beating the pavement, he enrolled in a creative writing course. Although encouraged to pursue a life as a writer, he returned to the Catholic university where he went on to study Psychology/Sociology. During his tenure, the late Sis. Teresa encouraged Philmore to seek a career as a writer or poet. Phil then began to once again nourish the idea. Having allowed several production companies to look-over his work, to no avail, he went on to receive degrees in both majors. While working as social worker, teacher, and supervisor for an all-girls detention, the writing bug began to bite again. Phil then began to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. So, having put down his paint brushes, Philmore picked up his pen to become a literary artist. Having penned his first novel, "The Student," he now anticipates creating other works for women to enjoy. Using his only child as inspiration, Philmore looks forward to accomplishing other literary and artistic goals.
