    Dedication:

I would like to dedicate this book first of all, to God the Father. And I would like to thank Him for His Amazing gift of Grace, Jesus my Lord and Saviour. Also for the Holy Spirit who dwells in me and allows me to have the loving relationship I have with each one of them!

    Forward:

If you were to Google the word scandal, no doubt countless numbers of choices would come up in the search. Including movie stars, presidents, sports legends, other world leaders and even Bible heroes.

Even the best selling book of all time the Bible, contains a few who are considered to be over the top. Murder, sex, denial, yes they are all in there. But even more scandalous than the acts themselves to some, is the forgiveness for the scandalous deeds.

Everyone loves a good scandal! We act as if we don't want to pass judgement, so we have to be sure to hear all the details-especially the juicy ones, before we make up our minds.

Society is addicted to scandals, we can never get enough of them. That's why they fill all the tabloid magazines and it's no accident that their placed right by every checkout aisle.

Of course with the Internet, Twitter, Facebook and the like, a scandal can go viral and have millions of views, almost instantaneously.

For a scandal to be passed around, the availability and accessibility of the internet, certainly is the equivalent of lightning fast! But if all else fails, there's always the old school method called gossip.

We all know (or maybe we don't, anyway we should know) what the Bible says about the tongue and the use of it.

    Proverbs 18:21 NKJ

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

And those who love it will eat its fruit.

While curiosity! May have killed the cat. This hasn't even came close when used in comparison with humans and their quest for happiness. So many have sought happiness and some have died from the extreme avenues used to find it. And some have been exposed for the mistakes in their pursuit. But few and far between have ever truly found happiness.

I think that's why our interest is so peaked when we hear of a scandal involving someone's pursuit of what they thought was happiness, and what they were really looking for. While many will argue with me about what I'm going to say next, I say keep looking. Maybe someday you will find what you think will make you happy and fulfill your life.

I'm going to point you in the right direction and show you the source, but as the old saying goes, you can lead

someone to the water fountain, but you can't make them drink!

As for me, I already know the only way that anyone will ever fill the empty void in their life, is by having a relationship with God the father, through Jesus God’s Amazing Son, introduced by and through the Holy Spirit.

So you're saying, a relationship with God is the answer to all our wants, needs and desires?? Yes it is!

A thousand times Yes! TBS. (the bible says) that Jesus’ part in the relationship, is to be everything you need Him to be and then some. (and He will be!)

Jesus is all that and so much more! He will be your counselor, your healer, your redeemer, your provision, your best friend, the lover of your soul. And I will tell you something else, all these to someone who actually has a relationship with the creator of the universe, knows them to be absolutely true!

However, to someone who hasn't experienced the Love and Goodness of God and doesn't know Jesus as their Saviour, they would consider them to be scandalous statements, with little or no merit. Simply empty statements, idle words on paper too good to be true.

But you see, I know them to be true. I have experienced all those blessings and so many, many more from my relationship with God through Jesus His son. Blessings that would boggle your mind, blessings that still boggle my mind and amaze me. Blessings that you would say no way did that happen to you!

And to that I would say, Yes Way! And I haven't even scratched the tip of the ice berg. I am on a quest and the more scandalous, over the top and unbelievable this seems, the better. To-get everything that God has already prepared for me to walk in and inhabit.

I’m talking about the good life, the abundant life, a healthy life, a spiritual life, a fulfilling life with Him at the forefront and center of His kept promises coming to fruition each and every day. For only one scandalous reason, Because He loves me just that much. And He is willing to give all those blessings to me, because He does!

The best and most unbelievable part is, that anyone can have what I'm talking about! And THAT is What makes my RELATIONSHIP with GOD so SCANDALOUS!! You can have just as good as, if not an even better one than the one I have, it's up to you!

I want you to Relax, this is not the 7 easy step program to a relationship with God.

All anyone can hope to do is, point you in the right direction towards God. But what I can do, is tell you it's not as hard as you think. God is more than willing to do His part, however the rest is up to you!

The devil knows this, that's why he vehemently tries so hard to cloud and confuse the issue. he says this can't be that easy and great, if this were that easy and great everyone would be participating in the program.

And to that, I would say If they really knew the truth, they would be. They would be running in droves to jump on board to what a relationship with God truly has to offer and for once in their life they would be finally free. Because the truth will set you free, the truth will liberate your entire being if you will only believe what God’s Grace has already established for you!

Each chapter in this book could by some, even those in religious circles, be considered scandalous. The religious circles in Jesus day, said the very same about the very same topics we’re going to be covering. Why don't we explore each chapter together and make up our own mind as we find out what the bible says! If you are willing to explore what the word says and find out for yourself, I know you will be amazed by what you find.

    Acts 17:10-12 NKJ

10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.

    Here’s the key;

they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

That's what I had to do for myself many years ago! Everyone whom I knew who had a relationship with Jesus all had opinions about what they knew!

Some of them had what I first thought was a somewhat scandalous encounter with God from time to time. They certainly knew all the lingo and how to act the part on Sunday. However, I was searching for more, I was on a quest of finding something real and tangible, for myself! Others I found were different, they not only talked about what God could do for you, they lived it!

They were completely immersed into what the Word said and what God was willing to do for them each and every day and their lives showed it. It's not as though they flaunted anything, but there was definitely something different about them, and I found myself wanting what they had. The relationship with God they had, seemed as though what I had been searching for, my entire life!

Some of my friends whom I talked with, said they had heard of things like that, but that I didn't have to believe that way or participate to go to heaven. As long as I was born again, that was all that mattered.

But the more I searched the word for myself, the more I came to realize. Why would I want to wait for heaven, to experience everything God has for me in this life I'm living now? So I shifted my focus away from Sunday morning religion and started to pursue a relationship with God’s gift of Grace, Jesus His Son instead.

I hate to say this, (and most definitely some would label this next statement as scandalous!) but religion is boring.

Listen friends, I want you to know my walk with Jesus since that day, has been anything but boring! My walk has been an amazing, exciting journey! The more I have pursued Him, the more He has Blessed and Rewarded my life, for the pursuit of Him!

Am I bragging? Yes I am, not on my ability, however I would brag on God’s abilities and what He can do for everyone all day long! Everything I have, I would be the first one to tell you, it's all God’s doing. And I'll tell you something else, if you'll pursue Him, He will do the same for you. I guess you could say, He's an equal opportunity Blesser, because He sure knows how to spread His Blessings around!

So call God’s Blessings and what He is willing to do, in a person’s life what you will. To me it's so much more than scandalous, to me its nothing short of AMAZING!

The point is, everything comes down to a choice you make every second of the day. And that is, whether or not to participate and pursue the relationship? You don't have to and no one is going to make you, but why wouldn't a person want everything that God was capable of giving them? When He's capable of giving them EVERYTHING!

It’s the most important choice anyone will ever make in their entire life! And to that, I have but one suggestion, CHOOSE WISELY! Because the choice you make will impact your life, not just in this lifetime, but for all of eternity!

Illus. a story by Lion Brand

The story is told of a man and woman who had been married for over 60 years. They had shared everything, except there was one secret in their marriage. The wife had a shoe box in the top of her closet, and she had cautioned her husband never to open it and never to ask about it. He never did.

But one day his wife got sick. It was determined that she would not recover. As they began to sort out her affairs, the husband took down the shoe box and took it to his wife.

They agreed that it was time that she should explain the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000. He lovingly asked her about the contents.

    She responded by saying,

"Just before we got married, my grandmother told me that the secret of a happy marriage was never to argue.

She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.

The husband was moved to tears, as he looked at the two dolls lying in the box. Only twice in all those years had his darling wife been angry with him. He said, But what about all this money? How did you manage to save all of this money? Oh she answered, that is the money I made from selling the dolls.

The world does a lot of looking for happiness, people are constantly looking for things to make them feel better. There is a lot of money spent by people to make themselves happy.

There is also a lot of money spent by other people making them happy. If you type in ‘happiness’ on Amazon.com, you’ll find at least 2,000 books about happiness.

Illus. Come on get happy by Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler. Does anybody remember the theme song from the Partridge family show?

Hello world, here's a song that we're singin'

Come on, get happy. A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin' We'll make you happy,

We had a dream we'd go travelin' together

And spread a little lovin' if we'll keep movin' on

Somethin' always happens whenever we're together

We get a happy feelin' when we're singin' a song

That song was written in the 1970’s and still to this day when I hear come on get happy happy carefree times come flooding back, of days gone by.

I came across this humorous story recently:

It seems as though little Johnny had been misbehaving and was sent to his room. He emerged a couple minutes later and informed his mother that he had thought things over and had even said a little prayer. The mother was very happy and said, If you asked God to help you not misbehave, He will help you. To which Johnny replied, Oh, I didn’t ask Him for help with that, I asked Him to help you put up with me.

Has tolerance, became our new remedy to happiness? If someone is truly seeking happiness, how's come there are so many people, wanting everyone else to change?

The world has even created its own version of happy, it's called Happy Hour! A created time slot in the day when you simply put off the cares and responsibilities of
