About this ebook

We should all have a right standing with God, which means that we should have his righteousness as Christians. I know that in this world it is a difficult situation and a challenge each day to do the right thing for God because of where you may be, like work, church, school, or even at home when you have friends over. As Christians, doing what is right in the eyes of God is done all the time no matter where we are. Doing it God's way is the best way to doing things, and we would be blessed when we do it. As real Christians or children of the Most High God, we are to do the right thing, and we would be able to see and feel that it is the right thing to do, to help others that are in need, help people to see the truth, to read his Word, showing all that we are walking in his light and staying out of the dark of this world. The earthly life of Jesus is described as being led or filled with the Holy Spirit. We also must do as he did. God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. Find your relationship with God. Learn how to do what is right by following Jesus Christ in all that he did. Learn from his truth, learn to hear his voice. Know his spiritual principles. Believe in God, and he will.

    Preface

First, I would like to thank you for getting this book, Doing the Right Thing for God and Others, to read, and hopefully, you have read my first book, Problem-Solving with Jesus. This book is done for all who would like to do the right things in life which is very hard at times. Each day can be so different from the day before, and there are so many things in our life that we need to work on and give to the Lord, but at times, we think we can handle it and end up in a place we do not want to be. Would you like to know how to handle everything the best way or how to get read of all your problems all at once? Well, in this book, you will find many things that you have or gone through, plus things that you have not gone through but have seen or heard about from someone else. Something you will find is that none of us are perfect and we all have problems that we want to get read of. You will also find that not everything is in this book, but it’s a start down the right path for you, friends and family. One other thing is that each person can see one thing in so many different ways and may not do something the way I would handle something. But if you can think of God doing something, He would always do the right thing and want a good life for us all. Please try to look at things as God would look at our lives and what he wants for us in each problem that we have and/or are going through. One last thing, most of us have something in our past that do not want to bring up because it’s the pain and shame that it brings up within us that we do not want to look at. Plus, we don’t want everyone to know about because we think they will not want to be around us anymore and look at us very different. But remember that God knows everything we have done and/or gone through and he still loves us and wants the best for us. Why should anyone that loves us now be any different? Well, maybe you will be able to see differently after you have gone through some of this book to include some of my personal stories.

When I met my wife and went out for the first time, I knew God had sent her to me because I had asked him to put someone right in front of me and to tell me she was the one. Well, she was but I knew before we had a second date that I had to tell her everything about my life and even those things that I did not want to think about ever again—about going to prison and why and everything before and after she had to know about because she had the right to know the whole truth from me and not from someone else that only heard or new part of it. Then and only then she could make a right choice for her future. It was the most pain I had felt for a long time, and it was just telling the truth. But I know that there are many more out there that feel the same way. If it’s not you, then it could be your friend or a family member that you know. They probably have not told you either. But if you do know, then you know the pain they have caused someone else. Do the right thing, and forgive them in order to live your life the way God wants you to. God forgave me of all my sins, and if he can do that, then he can do it for you also.

I pray that this book will help you and others even if it’s just a little. God is the one that gave me the ability to write this book. I never knew I could write until God told me to just wright down everything he brought to mind. There is a lot more in my head than I put down. So if he tells me to do another one, then I will. I will do whatever it takes to help someone that needs help. God uses us all for so many things—to help others and to teach and so others can see how to do things right or how we should not do things. Some people enter our life and leave just as fast as they arrived. And others stay in our lives for years and even forever. You know that this is true. I hope you can read this book and see things that you didn’t think of or refused to see. Then do the right thing not just for yourself or others but for God Almighty. Listen to his still small voice as you read. And he will be talking to you as you’re going through reading and telling you what you need to pay attention to in order to live your life. Thank you again for reading this book, and God bless you always. One last thing, if you know me personally, please thank God and not me for giving you some hope.

    Choices

Choices are the greatest power we have in our lives. As Christians, this should always involve choosing to do the right thing and/or choosing the right road or path. In any discussion about doing the right thing, we must also remember the word love. This is because God’s love for us and our love for him compels us to want to do the right thing. We love and serve others because he first loved us. In remembering this, we should always be doing the right thing for God. And in doing so, we are doing this for all our loved ones and those who are around us.

When I was born, I was a twin, but we were born too early, so the doctor had said that I would die. My twin came but didn’t make it, and I was only given a few days to live. But God fooled them all, and here I am only because God had a plan for me to live and do everything for him in time, saving lives through me as those in need would see him working inside of me. I cannot do anything without him. And there is nothing inside of me that is good other than Jesus Christ living through me. I don’t want people to see me in all that I do only because it’s not me doing anything good but it is God that is working through me. Yes, I like to be noticed just as everyone else is, but for this, I would rather be blessed when I get to heaven, wouldn’t you?

I can remember at times when fear struck friends during times in the military how men and even some woman have come to me during frustrated times between unknown life-and-death situations and would open up to me telling me what they were going through in order to get some relief. But I knew it wasn’t really me but Christ in me who they were speaking to. But back then, I didn’t even know that it was Christ that was showing himself to them through me. And he would give them his wisdom to help them out. So many people would express to me, many times over, what they would be going through in hard times. Jesus would always help them out. This is a blessing to be able to be used by God to help those in need. It gives you a natural high that once felt, you want more. But it took me a very long time to figure that out. It wasn’t me totally that was helping people out, it was I being used by God showing me that I can do anything with him by my side as long as I’m doing what he wanted me to do.

When you are walking with God and not against him, it is the most exhilarating thing that you can do and experience. God only wants what is best for you, and he knows what you need in order to survive each day on earth. Even when we don’t know him or even want to know him personally, he will make himself visible to us in his own way and time. In this way, we can have a personal relationship with him. It is the most precious most beautiful loving feeling you would ever feel, knowing that God needs you, a simple sinner, nothing compared to him but everything to God. Why? Because he loves you more than anything.

Please read this next chapter in the Word, and it will help you to see what we should be doing and why. Please read it all. It will help you down the road and even now when you are going through a hard time. You will be able to make good choices from it when you’re going through things right now. Plus it’s not that long for you to read.

    Bearing Others’ Burdens

We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me. For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15)

    Glorify God Together

Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles And sing to Your name.

And again he says: Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people! And again: Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! And again, Isaiah says: There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Nevertheless, brethren, I have written more boldly to you on some points, as reminding you, because of the grace given to me by God, that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation, but as it is written: To whom He was not announced, they shall see; And those who have not heard shall understand. For this reason I also have been much hindered from coming to you. But now no longer having a place in these parts and having a great desire these many years to come to you, whenever I journey to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while. But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem. It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things. Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain. But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me, that I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Psalm 34:14 says, Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

This psalm is very simple for anyone; you walk away from anything that is wrong or bad that you want or would do and look for anything that’s good and pursue it. Stay away from evil things. Many of you would understand this, but there are a few that will go forward in doing evil because they want to and like it or your friends are doing bad things and you’re just following them because you want to be noticed and liked by them. You can have much more friends if you do good things in your lifetime. Being a good person where everyone wants to know you is a good feeling. But knowing Jesus and having him working through your life will want everyone else to try to be your friend also.

I know very well that when you are on the run from God, you can’t go far, and you will end up in a place where you cannot run any more.

Acts 10:38 says, How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

We must remember that we have the same power that Jesus has. If you belong to him and if you have given yourself over to the Lord, then you have the same power as Jesus has. You too can do good things and heal those that are oppressed by the devil. And in doing so, you will have many friends and followers that will want to know Jesus through you. And the enemy will flee from you when you tell it to go away, just as Jesus did to many in the Old Testament.

I too once used to work for the devil. If you’re not with God, then you’re working with the enemy even if you don’t know this. That’s why I ended up locked up like so many others. But once I asked Jesus into my life, all things changed. Where I did not have any power over the devil, now he runs away from me when I tell him to leave me alone in Jesus’s name. Everyone has done something wrong in their lives at some point in their life. It’s just that some of you never got caught like so many others. You can try and deny it, but God knows who you are and what you have done.

Romans 14:23 says, "But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin."

There are some people that do things that are sins to others but certain things we want to do because we think it’s good or better for us and not others. Either way, we should all read the Bible, and if we did, we would learn that what we do for ourselves is wrong at times. We should do things for the greater good for God. In doing so, we would be blessed beyond what we could do ourselves. Now don’t get me wrong. We all do things for ourselves, and that’s okay. At times, we need to take care of ourselves. But we need to do the right things that God wants us to do. We also need to do things for others that are less fortunate than we are. You’ll know who you can do things for when you see them or hear about certain people. There are those that are trying to get over on you, but the Lord will let you know inside who to help. You just need to be receptive to his voice and lesson to what
