About this ebook

You may know Jesus, but more importantly, does Jesus know you?

Have you ever wondered if your relationship with Jesus is what it should be? Have you ever questioned your salvation and whether or not you can be sure you're going to Heaven when you die?

“Do You Have Enough G.A.S. To Get To Heaven?” will help you understand where you are in your relationship with God and Jesus and will help you deepen that relationship to insure your place in Heaven. God has expectations of how we should live our lives and this book give examples, taken directly from the Bible, of what God expects. These are not good works that we can do to earn our way into Heaven; they are more of a barometer of how we are living our lives in response to the faith and trust we have placed in God and Jesus. This can make all the difference in where we spend eternity.

Author

John Dallas McCarter

"I had gone to a church service with some friends and when one of them went forward at the altar call, I did too. I repeated a sinner's prayer, hugged my friend and went home. For six months I never opened a Bible, never went to church and didn't even pray. I didn't do the things I should have been doing and did lots of things I shouldn't have done. But I thought I was "saved". I am so thankful my life didn't end during that time." Now, for more than twenty-five years, John Dallas McCarter has served Jesus Christ in small groups, both as a member and leader; in various local and national ministries; as a church deacon/trustee; and is currently studying to become a pastor. With “Do You Have Enough G.A.S. To Get To Heaven?” John is following God’s call to tell Christians throughout the world that salvation takes more than just repeating a few words at an altar; it takes a change of heart and it takes becoming a new creation.

    INTRODUCTION

Some of the most frightening words in the Bible are when Jesus says in Matthew 7:21-23, Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers.

Imagine living your life thinking you’re going to Heaven, but when you die, finding out you’ll be spending eternity in hell. I believe Jesus is telling us that if we want to enter into His kingdom, we can’t be Christians just on the surface, with some of our actions and words; we must make Him Lord of our lives down to the very core of our being, in all that we say and do.

Salvation is much more than just believing in Jesus with our minds; it has to go so much deeper. As Christians, we’ve all said the words Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, and professed them to be true many times in our lives. But do we really mean it? We believe Jesus is our Savior but have we made Him our Lord? And if he is not the
