The blonde woman with a red hat
In the heart of the desert, there was a big city whose buildings were made of mud bricks. In this city, there was a big merchant gathering, in which the merchants from the neighboring villages and cities were coming to display and sell their goods in a big street market twice a year.
Unusually, a blonde woman with a red hat was walking in the middle of the street. Her white skin and face features showed that she was a foreign to this Arabian city.
It looks like that she was searching for something; she stopped and requested the man, who was working with her as a guide and a translator, to ask one of the merchants about anyone who sells camels. A man told them about (Qasem), the most famous camel merchant in the city and he described to them the road to his shop.
The woman and her translator arrived at Qasem’s tanning shop but they found it closed. Her translator asked one the passers-by about Qasem. He informed them that Qasem might be in his home right now because he used not to open his shop in the morning and he showed them the road to his home. They thanked him very much and went ahead to Qasem’s home.
When they arrived, she looked up to the highest point at Qasem’s home and whispered wonderingly,
- I had no idea that there is such a big building in this city!
A little girl opened the door, and when she saw this foreign woman, they called her mother. The mother welcomed her and offered her a well reception.
The young girls was looking at the woman astonishingly because it was the first time for them to see a woman with such different features and white skin.
The mother, Jasmine, asked her eldest daughter, Hanna', to go and call her father. After a few minutes, she came back with her father, Qasem. He welcomed the foreign woman and sat down in a chair opposite to her. One of his youngest daughters was holding his clothes firmly and her beautiful brown eyes were staring at that foreign woman astonishingly.
The foreign woman smiled at her and said through her translator,
- I came here to buy some camels to my trip.
Qasem said while standing up,
- Come with me to choose what you want.
He took her to his big barn, which was containing more than 700 camels. Qasem asked one of his servants to pick out the best camels for his foreign guest. The servant went and came back with his best five camels for the woman to choose from.
However, she looked away at another camel other than the five brought by the servant and said excitedly,
- I like that one, how much does it cost?
This one is not for sale; it is for my youngest daughter.
Answered Qasem while pointing to his brown eye daughter.
Would you care to sell it to me for any price you want?
the woman asked the young girl with a wide warm smile on her face.
The girl looked at her camel hence to the woman and said to the translator,
- I’m going to sell it to her for her red hat.
Qasem looked at his daughter and shouted,
- Shall you sell your she-camel for that price, Areeb? For a hat!
The woman said while handing the hat to Areeb,
- Done, I accepted the deal.
The girl returned to her home wearing the hat, which she got from her first bargain in life. As soon as she arrived at her home, Areeb stared at her hat admiringly and started to investigate its material carefully. At this time, her mother entered and shouted at her,
- Areeb, why did you hit your aunt’s daughter?
- "She tried to
