Reality Struck!!! THE MAKING OF POETRY IN MOTION - Beverly R. Carr

    BIOGRAPHY

    A MOTHERLESS CHILD

I feel like a motherless child

She’s been gone for quit awhile

That’s the last time you saw me smile

I walk alone going the extra mile

Where’s the love that used to pile

I see that it’s gone out of style

She always been carefree and wild

    Treated me like a reptile

    Always bitter and hostile

    Always being in denial

We will never be able to reconcile

When you have a mother living the life of a juvenile

Shattered pieces from a broken heart

    that’s so fragile

No one comes between her crack vial

Whatever happened to a mother’s love for her child ?

I will never know because, the judge ruled mistrial

    By: Beverly R. Carr

    ALL OF ME

I gave u all of me and got nothing in return

Not playing with fire, and still got burned

As the years go by; I wonder will I ever learn

My first, second, and third love that I had all turned out bad

    Having bad judgment in men

Relationships that make my head spin

Letting them get beneath my skin

    again, again, and again

When will it ever end ?

I should’ve listen, when Tina Turner has spoken

Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken

    By: Beverly R. Carr

    BORN TO SURVIVE

Born to survive and willing to sell

    my soul to stay alive

The way homeless people are living

    brings tears to my eyes

    No where to go

    No place to sleep

    Eating out of garbage cans

    and living on the streets

Begging for money to buy some food

    Some people don’t understand they’re

    so damn rude

    Some wear extra clothing

    while, others are practically nude

I give them some spare change, to

    show my gratitude

    Nobody chooses to homeless

Living in the streets are very dangerous

It can happen to me or you

    Not all dreams come true
