This book is dedicated to my dear mother Elder Betty Colbert whom I miss dearly. Mom a jewel in her own right has guided me in the midst of many obstacles.
Having walked in many valley experiences, having climbed fallen back down and recovering from bumps and bruises life extends to you. Now I am able to climb mountains that are high, staying in valleys that are low and still counting it all joy.
a%20chosen%20light%20cheron.jpgA Chosen Light
He was in his teen years
With full bloom creativity
All of the youth welcomed him
In and around the circles of his life
Family and friends knew him well
A helping hand he would give
Respect for his mom, dad, elders and sibs
The block where he lived
A rebel of sorts, strong willed and un-afraid
A chosen light with a short flight
Beaming high beaming low
Cut down in his prime
Yet, still aglow
Mourning was long but memories strong
Moments of sighs heavy hearts not denied
Leaving a daughter a sight to behold
Having dimples in her shoulders
Like his moms, sure to bring a tear of overwhelming joy
He has left a legacy of how to be
With family, friends, even your enemy
His wing being broken
His song quieted from within
A chosen light has now taken flight
He has new wings where there is pain no more
A Point In Time
As you set amongst the quiet seeking your purpose
Lying back lounging and anticipating time already gone
The day being long
Today like any other
Entertaining yourself
Spending time with others giving of yourself wholeheartedly
Evening approaching with sounds of thunder and lightening
Makes its way to your ears
Anticipating the next count between thunder and lightening
There is quietness with heart beats fast and loud
Shallow breathing yet left to be heard
Sitting in a room with others sharing times together
What does this evening hold for
