First published as a pamphlet in 2005, What This Black Woman Knows is a collection of 33 poems inspired by Shiella Bowler's family, friends, and lovers from the past, present, and those she's yet to encounter in the future. Each line pours forth from her heart and soul, built from her unique life experiences.
Shiella Bowler
Shiella has been writing her feelings throughout her life in a variety of mediums and holds copyrights for poems, short stories, and even a song. Her work has even inspired her friends to write. She is a life-long resident of Washington, DC and a career civil servant. She published her first short story in 1989, followed by many of her poems.
