About this ebook

42 and Counting

A collection of original poetry completed by Angeli Sweeney. The poetry she has chosen to share is an expression of her own personal evolution. Presented in a loose chronological order, they are an insight into Angeli's search for the 7 principles of Maat; Truth, Justice, Harmony, Balance, Order, Reciprocity and Propriety at different points of her life.

The number 42 has a special meaning, relating to the 42 Laws of Maat: the moral rules and beliefs that guided behaviour of Auset and all the people of Ancient Kemetic Society. Also the Earth year number age of the author when this book was published. Her poems consist of observations, life lessons, dream content and commissioned pieces. Angeli chooses to share her work in the hope that it will inspire others searching for their own individual guiding principles.

    FOREWORD

Angeli is a poet who I have seen for many years perform her poetry with integrity and wisdom and the knowledge of one who lives in a real world while observing it at the same time. It was a privilege to be asked to write a small foreword for this online collection.

I feel connected to the everyday circumstances that she writes about, it has a connectability that spans generations. When she speaks the words, the words speak back to your heart. You find yourself in many of the stories she paints with her poetry. Angeli’s Poetry, draws you to place of remembrance empathy. It fires you up to not stand for rubbish to recognise the world is a place that still needs to change and grow, and be better.

Angeli Sweeney’s poetry is about challenging your perceptions of the world. This new collection, I know will speak to your heart and will bring understanding in times of trouble, it will give you an insight into the poet’s world. Quintessentially, poetry is filled with an understanding of the human condition and all of its facets.

    The Pattern

    Hearts resonating

    Souls vibrating

    Minds oscillating

    Patiently waiting

    For this frequency

    This energy

    That represents

    The highest part of me

Asking the universe to guide my steps

And I'm so ready to move my feet

So ready to move to this beat

So ready to feel complete, complete

    Feeling Syncopated

    Feeling Elevated

    No longer frustrated

    I'm accommodated

    Cup is overflowing

    God is clearly showing

    Me the way of knowing

Think I know where I'm going

    Wake every morning glowing

    And every day I'm sowing

    Ready for the reaping

    This is my season

    Demonstrated synchronicity

Shocks the hell out of me

    Touches a place in me

That says this is the dream

    Ego is rebuked

    In the name of truth

    Now I’m getting used

    To a life so obtuse

    And abundant

    I see the pattern!

    Now

It's taken me so long to get here

    Here

Starts with a thought, a vision, a dream

    Here is the there

    Where I Am

    Now

Once I started to let go

    It became so
