The Poetry She Instilled In Me - Techelet S. Jean
Recognition
Primarily, I would like to give an immeasurable gratitude to the greatest Spirit known to existence - God. I thank You for all of my gifts and abilities to produce and make a difference in this world as I will humbly embark and continue to place my imprint in people’s lives, while providing new ways and perspectives on things that have caused us to stumble and succumb to the well misguided systems established by society.
Also, I would like to dedicate and devote a huge acknowledgement to all family and friends and others who have supported me through. Without your strength and tough love and admiration, I would be less of a human being than I was yesterday. Special dedication to my professor Dr. Hill for always pushing me to get to a better and brighter tomorrow. Moreover, I want thank Carl Pierre-Paul for helping with the edit of the book and Stephania Altenor for her unwavering support.
Introduction
Poetry is something that I have always been intrigued by, especially when it is written in an artistic fashion. In fact, poetry is art. It is another art form for those who enjoy expressing themselves into brief but infinite words to millions of people and generations to come. Inspirations, healing, triumph, love, rhythm, soul, life, romance, depth, joy, sorrow, philosophy, struggle, freedom and beauty are some of the great things you can always look forward to when you think of poetry.
These 15 characteristics above were, in many ways, the impetus to penning these late night/early morning thoughts as I am infinitely thankful to share with the world. All of these poems are experiences or feelings of the heart and soul. An open mind is vastly suggested as you begin to read and enter my mind and unbosom what I may have undoubtedly endured.
