    Paleo Breakfast Cookbook - Cavemandietblog.com

    INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Paleo Breakfast Cookbook.

Before we go any further, I’d like to thank you for downloading this book. I hope you enjoy it.

For a few years now, We’ve been helping people make the transition from a traditional Western diet, to the healthy, delicious and energy abundant way of life that is the Paleo Diet. As part of that transition, we often recommend that individuals attempt take it slow and slowly assimilate the Paleo lifestyle over time. One may do this by trying a single Paleo meal per day over a period of time.

    Hence this book!

It’s cliché to say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day…so I won’t say it. (Even though you’re likely thinking that now.) Truly though, breakfast is probably the best meal for this type of experimentation since you get a whole day to feel the benefits of this meal.

Now don’t get me wrong. This book isn’t just for Paleo Newbies. It’s just as important to those of us who are more experienced, since we may have gotten caught in a routine that is beginning to feel a bit...stale (THE BLASPHEMY! Paleo getting STALE?!)

Don’t worry, it happens to all of us. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught repeating meals. Who can blame you? Between managing a job, kids or building a relationship with your partner, time to research creative meals may seem like time better spent elsewhere.

Which is where the CavemanDietBlog.com comes in.

Consider this book your go-to resource for spicing up your boring breakfast routine!

If this book is your introduction to the Paleo diet then there are a few guidelines that are helpful to know in advance.

    HOW PALEO WORKS

Essentially, the Paleo diet is an approximation of what Humanity as a race ate during our development as a species. Specifically, during the Paleolithic period, prior to the development of agriculture. In simpler terms, we’re trying to eat like we did back when we actually used to HUNT and GATHER.

As you can imagine there are a number of things you’ll want to avoid, so let’s start with the basics:

    Processed sugars

    Grains

Yup. That’s right, no more sugary cereals, no more frosting covered rolls of dough (donuts, unless they are of the Paleo variety), no more chocolate cake (at least not the traditional kind).

Breathe Deep. It’s not as bad as it seems. Remember, within this book there are 30 DELICIOUS breakfast recipes so for every treat you give up you get one that tastes just as good THAT’S ALSO HEALTHY!

    Continuing the list:

     Dairy

     Legumes

There are a couple more than what’s mentioned on this list, but these are the most important ones. Again, no need to dive head long into the process, eliminate your food options slowly.

Okay! So we’ve covered a lot of what’s NOT allowed- no fun. So now we get to see what we get to enjoy! Try to build your diet, focused around:

     Fish/Seafood

     Fresh Fruits

     Grass Fed Meats

     Fresh Vegetables

     Nuts

     Eggs

     Healthy Oils

     Seeds

As you can see, there’s quite a variety of meals you’re probably already thinking of. Sizzling grass fed stake or even delicious omelettes! Let’s not Get ahead of ourselves though. The best is still to come.

    WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT

Besides the best breakfast you’ve ever had, there are a number of benefits that come with switching to a Paleo diet.

    More Energy

In my line of work, one of the things that I hear most often from clients is that they feel abundantly energetic. Often times it’s this newfound energy that motivates them to continue pursuing a Paleo Lifestyle.

    Better Health

It probably goes without saying that a Paleo lifestyle promotes better health. This comes from the fact that by following the guidelines you reduce your exposure to a number of harmful substances. Specifically you are less likely to suffer from:

    Cardiovascular disease

    Some forms of cancer

    Neurodegenerative disease

    Better Digestion

If you’ve ever been irregular you probably understand how important it is to have healthy digestion. Irregularity can be a burden, especially when it is endured over time. Lucky for us the Paleo diet naturally includes a TON of fiber. A
