Natural phenomena

I have a friend who says she now sees spirit, mostly just as faces, she says they also present themselves in her photos. She has hundreds and hundreds of photos she believes show shadow faces, cloud faces, curtain faces, tree faces and orbs. I cannot see what she sees, is there any truth to her claims.

While I have personally experienced odd occurrences in photographs, and I'm certainly not going to say it's impossible for spirit entities to show themselves in such a way, I believe wholeheartedly that it is vitally important to maintain an informed approach combined with a discerning and open mind. While it's potentially possible for non-physical entities to appear in photos, much of what is passed around these days as 'spiritual phenomenon' in photographic imagery is simply what light and lenses, water droplets, sun flare and dust do as a natural occurrence. While I realise your friend might see faces in the photos you've sent, the photos mean nothing to me. The colours are so unnaturally bright and taken so far out of context by enlargement, it's impossible for me to perceive of any auric forms at all. It may be that she can read these things in this way, and if it means something to her, then that might be her 'thing'. Given my profession and experiences, the ability to see comprehensible and interpretable information in these photos isn't impossible. That she can see faces in such things isn't unusual, it's called pareidolia; the human brain makes recognisable patterns out of anything it sees, like clouds, stains, patterns in carpets and such like. The important thing would be if what she's seeing actually means anything, and if it's of assistance to her in daily physical life. Anyone can do a test to create these so-called orbs to appear in a photo. Set up your camera, using the flash, in a darkened room with fabric curtains, give the curtains a good shake, then quickly take photos. Many dust motes will appear as those so-called 'orbs' because the flash reflects off the dust causing nearly perfectly round spots in the photos. The same can be done with water droplets. It isn't anything spiritual, it's a natural occurrence with light, just as a rainbow is formed by the way light reflects off water droplets in the atmosphere.

Dark reflections

I have had this growing feeling of being watched for the past few months. Lately it's been getting worse and I keep seeing shadows move at the edges of my vision. When looking in a mirror I often see something moving behind me. I guess they are spirits of some sort so I was hoping you might be able to tell me how to deal with this issue because it's getting worse and I'm starting to get really scared.

I can see why you might think these visions are spirits, although the real connection here is with personal guilt. You've done something you feel terribly guilty about and the guilt is growing. You know if your husband found out it could be the end of the marriage, and you wouldn't blame him. You're aware in yourself there was no real excuse for your actions, you were just swept away in the moment and did the wrong thing by your belief system. You really have two choices here. The first is to be ok with what you've done and learn to forgive yourself for it. We all make mistakes in life, and when what we've done has the potential to hurt others it's natural to feel as you do. As this was a lapse in judgement you'll not make again, try to forgive yourself, and in time the guilt will lessen, so too will the disturbing visions. The other option is to face this head on and tell your husband what happened. He'll be angry
