      A week ago, he was my worst enemy. A day ago, I hated him. Half an hour ago, I wanted to punch him.

      But now? Now I never wanted that white boy to let me go.

      His kisses were the finest champagne as he worked his way down my long neck. His fingers fought and fumbled with the clasp of my bra and when he freed my breasts, there was no denying that he was impressed.

      But I’d hated him so much. I’d hated him with all of my being. He had been my worst enemy, and now he was my lover.

      Two weeks ago, I didn’t even know who Sebastian J. Caswell was, and there was no way in hell he knew who Zari Tyler was. I was a nobody, just some woman trying to keep her home.

      It was a freeway that brought us together. A damn freeway that was going to uproot us and all my neighbors. When the notice came, I knew we had to act. These were our homes, and we wouldn’t just give them away because some politician told us to.
