elcoming my newborn son into the world, I was such a proud dad.

I already had two girls of my own – Chelsea, now 27, and Chanel, now 26 – but I’d always wanted a boy.

A huge fan of the Bolton Wanderers football team, I dreamed of taking Reece down the club with me.

Me and his mum split not long later, but as the years went by, Reece and I became the best of pals.

Despite my initial hopes, Reece was more into his cars and motorbikes than he was football.

Thankfully, he soon started coming to watch Bolton with me and we had so much fun together.

The older Reece got, the closer we became. We were friends more than anything.

Reece was a kind, loving kid. He always worried about me.

‘Want me to come over?’ he’d offer regularly.

He hated the idea of me being alone.
