About this ebook
Do you or someone you know experience depression?
Experience. That's an odd way to put it, but Ava refuses to say, "suffering". There you have the theme of this entire book. A round peg ever eluding the square hole, Ava takes you on a journey through a brilliant mind ravaged by mental demons.
You are not alone. Your feelings aren't so crazy. Daring to laugh in the face of mental illness and critics alike, Ava reaches out through her own vulnerability to grasp at the darkness. An undying message that things will be better and one day that grasping will bring huge returns.
This one is not to be missed. Love wins.

An Introduction and Disclaimer
gge.jpgHi. I’m Ava...Fails. Yes, that’s my real name. It’s kind of like Debbie Downer only...real. This is my first official memoir. I’ve written other books about my personal experience before, but officially, this is a first. Why should you care? Well, I don’t know, so I’ll just state my intentions, make my apologies, and move on. Whadya say? Cool.
I’ll start with the introduction part first. You know my name. I’m turning 40 this year. Let’s count my major accomplishments: zero, one, well, that doesn’t really count, zero, wha-one, nah, everyone does that, zero, hmmm. See my dilemma? Such is the life of a Jane of all Trades and master of...two cats. That is all. My life would only feel justified and appropriate if I was turning 18 this year instead.
I was born a sheltered Southern daughter in North Carolina. I have lived there my entire life save for a few short stints the first 4 years of my life as a military brat, and 4.5 years in Las Vegas between 2004 and 2009. Yep. I lived in Las Vegas. No, it wasn’t all that. I’m glad that I can say I haven’t lived in the same 50-mile radius all of my life, but do respect people who have. I only really appreciated home and its meaning after I left it for a while.
I love Jesus, so shoot me. Even so, just because I think He and God are AWESOME doesn’t mean that I have an insatiable need to demand that you do. I hope that you do, but if you don’t, you have your reasons. That being said, people of all faiths or the lack thereof, please stay and read on.
I’ll tell you more throughout this book. I mean, it’s a memoir, so I can’t give away everything in the first dang chapter.
Onward to the disclaimer.
This is where I apologize to you, the reader, for anything about this book that offends you or so much as makes you cringe. I wrote it this way on purpose to be conversational and to reach a certain audience. If you don’t like it, you’re not that audience. I break stereotypes. I write like I talk. I self-deprecate. I have some minor mental issues that probably need
