Elizabeth Bennet fussed with her blue gown in her small bedroom at the inn at Lambton. Yesterday, she’d had a most wondrous experience with Mr. Darcy, in the Pemberley woods, and now they were engaged!

She had been touring Derbyshire with her aunt and uncle Gardiner, and yesterday they visited Pemberley. At first she had been anxious that they would bump into Mr. Darcy, but his housekeeper assured her he was not due back until the next day.

Ever since he had proposed to her quite dreadfully at Rosings, she had not been able to dismiss him from her mind.  But then yesterday ...

Yesterday, she had been strolling in the Pemberley woods while her aunt and uncle explored the large maze in the grounds. And there she had met him - Mr Darcy! She had been so embarrassed, but when he apologized for his clumsy proposal at Rosings, her heart had melted.

And then he had drawn her into his arms, kissed her passionately, and had taken delightful liberties with her body, such delicious things that still made her blush when she thought about them! She had been lost.

After their passionate interlude, Darcy had proposed! Of course she had said yes. When she saw him yesterday, she realized just how much she loved him.

Tonight, she and her aunt and uncle were dining with him at Pemberley. Darcy (or Fitzwilliam as he had asked her to call him when they were private) promised her that he would announce their engagement on this night, in front of his very small party of friends. Before she had left Pemberley yesterday, he had vowed that they would marry quickly, as he could not wait to enjoy her body in the marriage bed.

She was sure she had flushed crimson all over when he had murmured that in her ear, but she had to confess to herself, that after the passion she had enjoyed with him yesterday, she also, was looking forward to their wedding night.

Lizzy, are you ready? Her aunt Gardiner tapped on her door.

Coming, aunt. Lizzy took one last look in the small mirror, tucking back a stray tendril of shining brown hair, then joined her aunt in the hallway.

You look very well, her aunt said approvingly as they descended the stairs. Your uncle is waiting outside with the carriage. To think that Mr. Darcy has invited us to dinner! It is most civil of him.

Elizabeth bit her lip, wanting to confess to her aunt that she and Darcy were secretly engaged. Indeed, she had been bursting to tell someone ever since they arrived back at the inn yesterday.
