The Wedding PLANNER

THE STORY SO FAR: Kirsty Thorpe is in Jamaica, having been hired by Fred and Linda to plan their only daughter’s wedding. It’s Kirsty’s first wedding abroad and the most lavish and expensive she’s ever organised. Fred and Linda have joined her for a break before Phoebe and her fiancé, Ash, join them. Phoebe and Ash have seemed uninterested in the whole thing and Kirsty puts that down to Phoebe having been spoilt. It’s vital the wedding is a success, not just for Kirsty’s business, but it’s a first for the hotel and the caterer. Kirsty’s boyfriend, Will, isn’t too happy about her going to Jamaica, but she’s sure he’ll come round once she gets her fee. Everything is going perfectly until she arrives back at the hotel to find Linda in a terrible state. She hasn’t been able to contact Phoebe and is sure something awful has happened.

Fred looked lost and helpless, and when he pressed his fist against his chest, Kirsty realised that behind the couple’s happiness and excitement, they were drowning in stress.

‘Can you talk to her, Kirsty?’ Fred pleaded.

‘Linda, listen to me,’ Kirsty said. ‘You’re getting worked up over nothing. If anything bad had happened, you would have heard by now.’

Linda choked on a sob and Kirsty realised she could see the sense in her words.

‘Has this happened before?’ she asked, knowing full well that it had.
