About this ebook

For the first time in his life, there’s something that CJ wants that he cannot have. Handsome enough to have gorgeous women throwing themselves at him, and rich enough to buy basically anything his heart desires, he is not used to being denied anything. Unfortunately for him, he has found the one girl that doesn’t care about money, and in a moment of uncertainty, did something to hurt her deeply. CJ knows that Kori’s forgiveness cannot be bought for any price, and she won’t be won over by good looks alone. He’ll have to beg and plead for her to see reason. He’ll have to put his heart on his sleeve, reveal things he’s never revealed to anyone, and make himself vulnerable. Can he put aside his ego long enough to tell Kori the things she needs to hear, or will his pride get in his way? Will he win her back or has he lost the most important thing in his life, the one thing his money will never be able to buy for him: True love.

Eden Devoe

I've always known I wanted to become a writer. Even before I could hold a pencil, I was making up wild, elaborate tales for anyone who would listen. And as soon as I could write down more than my ABC's, I was entertaining my friends and family. The passion for the written word has not dimmed as I have gotten older, but life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. Finally able to have platform for my writing, I'm happy to share my passion with the world. I write a mix of everything, but currently, I'm very passionate about writing erotica and romance stories. Some of the stories are set in real life, and some are set in the world of supernatural beings and fantasy worlds, but all are filled with lots of steamy sex and passion. My stories are suitable for adults only, and it's so much better that way. I love to hear from readers, so don't hesitate to contact me if you want. You can find me on twitter: @edendevoe, or you can send me an email: edendevoe@gmail.com.

CJ stared at the door for a long time, trying to work up the courage to knock. He went over the speech he had prepared in his head for the 1000th time, hoping against hope that Kori would be calm enough to listen. Nearly three months of trying to apologize had been completely unsuccessful. It was different from the last time she had been upset with him. She had only been avoiding him, not furious, and although hard to corner, she at least talked to him a little. This time around, Kori wouldn't give him the time of day. The fact that she had gone to extremes told him just how angry she truly was, how deeply he had wounded her. She had changed the locks on her door, rendering his key useless, thwarting his clever plan to simply seduce her over and over again until she caved. She had also changed her phone number, and he had yet to discover the new one. None of her friends had been of any help in that department. Most of them just told him to go to hell, and the others told him to leave her alone. They all seemed to hate him as much as he hated himself these days.

He had screwed up royally. He knew that. In a moment of panic over how close they were getting, over how much Kori meant to him, he had done something truly asinine and pushed away the best thing that had every happened to him. A simple lapse in judgment had caused his world to come collapsing in around him.

The fact that she was ignoring every attempt at contact hurt him deeply. Her cold words the last day he had seen her still haunted him, and he wished bitterly that he could go back in time to fix it all. He was falling apart without her. He barely slept anymore. The bed simply felt too empty without her, and no one else could fill that space. The times he did sleep were mostly due to drunken binges where he passed out wherever he happened to be. Food had lost all flavor, and the world seemed duller somehow.

CJ knew he was heartbroken, that
