Low-fat & low-carb diets can be simple, but they can also be a bit bland. The Dukan diet for example allows quite a variety of ingredients. However eating just veg and meat can get boring quickly.

INTRODUCTION
Low-carb diets can be pretty simple — eat as much as you want of the allowed foods and enjoy the weight loss. However, people are creatures of habit. When you can eat your favorite foods over and over, it’s easy to fall into a routine. I love grilled chicken, so when I first started out on the Dukan diet, I practically had grilled chicken every day. And as back then I wasn’t much of a cook, it really was chicken in either Peri Peri spice or some generic Italian spice blend. Even my love for chicken could not prevent the boredom that started creeping in after a week or two.
Since I created http://mydukandiet.com, this has also been the topic of many e-mails I received from other Dukan diet followers. People asked: What kind of sauce can I make? What can I do to add variety to my meat dishes?
To help people on a low-carb, low-fat diet (not just the Dukan dieters!), I’ve teamed up with Jessica Donaldson, a very creative cook. With my diet knowledge and her cooking skills, I can now present you with 39 tried and tested recipes for sauces and dips.
This way, you get recipes that work with the diet friendly ingredients. I wanted to note this specifically, because very often just replacing the fat and sugar in a recipe without tweaking and testing can lead to disappointment. Low-fat or fat-free products (especially dairy) can behave differently, and this needs to be considered.
Before You Cook
Before we move onto the recipes, it might be worthwhile to list the simple, ingredient type condiments that are allowed on the Dukan diet.
Agar-agar – from Attack
Baking powder & baking soda – from Attack
Chicken stock – tolerated in Attack, allowed afterwards. Should be low-fat, and if made from stock cubes, use a low sodium
