Whenever you see a man that’s considered well-dressed in a magazine, you’ll probably be looking at a man in a tailored suit. One of the real jokes is that even the non-suits in magazines are tailored. Almost everything in a magazine is tailored to the model. Congratulations to the editors for taking a model, putting him in a tailored suit, covering him in makeup, hiring a professional photo team, and somehow making him look good.

That is what this guide is not about.

I’m not here to tell you to buy a specific brand or style. I’m not here to sell you anything. I will never tell you that you need to look like a model but I will insist that you be the absolute best man that you can be (without being a complete tool.)

You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars. You don’t need to use hundreds of products. You don’t need to spend hours looking up minor details. You don’t need to study those magazines. You don’t need to spend hours a day.

All of the tips provided can be used on a budget of nothing. All the tips provided can be applied in 5 minutes a day and a couple hours a month. And with that, you will never need to wonder if you’re dressed right again.

I was not always the impeccably dressed and ultra-confident man I am today. I remember going out on dates with the doubts on my mind. Do I look alright? Does she think I look ridiculous? Am I really going to impress her with this. Well… Those doubts do more than just make you wonder. They also kill every bit of confidence you have. Looking back it’s obvious to me. I did look alright. Not impressive. She didn’t think I looked ridiculous. Again not impressive but not ridiculous. But that doesn’t matter… That doesn’t matter because I failed miserably on the last question. What I wore back then wouldn’t impress anyone.

Ever have the pleasure of going to a job interview and finding out that you’re underdressed. That’s never a fun feeling. A man comes out of the humans resources office wearing a suit that makes him look like a million bucks. You look down at your khakis and realize that this is going to be an embarrassing interview. Again, your confidence is shot.

If you’ve never had one of these experiences then point to the sky and be thankful because it is not pleasant. Be thankful that you have the good sense of looking for advice before you hit rock bottom.
