This will be my last one in this series. The plot line was tolerable, but the petty nature of the “conflict” between Sharp and Page is a stretch. Apologizing for snitching on something that is clearly a felony shows lack of moral character. The whole thing is pathetic and irritating. The narrator still doesn’t have a basic grasp of accents and is quite irritating to listen to. While I’m curious to see if she catches her mother’s killer, I’m over it. I completely lost it when she shot a bad guy in the leg as a “warning shot” indicates the author has 1. Never picked up a pistol and 2. Doesn’t understand the basic concept of aiming for centre of mass that all law enforcement follow. They don’t shoot to maim, they shoot to neutralize a threat. Also, someone who hates doing anything more than minimal target practice will NOT have the aim required to hit a small target like a moving extremity. It’s laughable.

I like the Adele Sharp mysteries but Blake Pierce has a strange fondness for describing the action of “wincing” about every other sentence it seems. finding a different verb would be beneficial. Also when Adele is in action she often seems kind of inept to deal with it, which is what she is trained for. I guess that adds to the suspense but in all reality it just annoys me.

The second book was very informative, and the storyline was also impressive with killers from one victim to the other. American women killed in France for their kidney only for those not been used for the purpose they intended for. These cases went on, and they brought down a lot of criminals who were brought, not but pain inflicted to many innocent. Am gland that Adele Shape and her partner were able to solve this mystery and brought in the killer.
Now her father is telling her some secrets about her mother's killer that he has hind from her.

I liked Adele and the mental health aspect of the murders. However I couldn’t stand the ridiculous bickering between Adele and Sophie. Also, I felt the beginning of the book with Massey was frustrating.
