I loved this prequel to You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows. It gives you the backstory from Shayna and Lee’s college days. She was his tutor and he had made a “bet” with his friends about her. I highly recommend reading this novella prior to reading You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows.

False Start is a good prequel to the series. It sets up book one well with the cliffhanger and establishes the relationship between the main characters. The storyline seemed a bit predictable with the sport-obsessed hero and the tutor heroine but maybe that's because I'm reading a lot of that trope at the moment. I would have preferred more tension and slow burn between the characters instead of them ripping each other's clothes off in the prequel but it was still a nice and easy read.

The Perfect Setup

Oh…I can’t wait to find out how Lee gets back in the good graces of Shayna. This prequel was a perfect setup for the Kingsmen Football Stars series.
Lee & Shayna’s romance was so sweet and pure…but he broke it. And as Shayna said, “Sometimes once something is broken, you can’t fix it. Even if you glue all the pieces together, it’ll never be the same as it once was.”
Can’t wait for You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows to find out how he glues these pieces back together.
Callie Dalton & Joe Arden did awesome in drawing you in to the love story between Lee & Shayna & left me wanting more.
