About this audiobook

Everyone knows that if you play with fire you'll end up getting burned…

What happens when you attend a first responder's bachelor auction with your best friends? Well, if your name is Madison Kelly like me, your friends end up bidding on a date for you with your high school crush.

That's right. Even back when I was 'Fatty Maddie' to all my classmates, I had eyes for the quarterback of our football team. Not like I was the only one.

Mauro Bianco may fight fires for a living, but he still sets my heart ablaze. One look at the rugged, muscular man he's turned into and I want to slide down his pole.

One date. That's all I'm committed to. A few hours and I can tuck him back into that tattered old shoebox in my closet.

As always, the universe has other plans. I never would've predicted that in a matter of days he'd turn from my dream guy into my business partner — and that's when things got interesting.

This is my first book by this author and I have to admit I enjoyed it very much. Both Mauro and Madison are great characters, the story flows really well and the steamy part are good. The narrators are great specifically the male narrator Eric Rolon, his laughter is sexy AF!! Found the ending of the epilogue a bit strange but I guess the 3 books are connected so the story will continue no doubt, so was not worried about it. A lovely sexy book to pass the time.

This story was definitely not my favorite Piper Rayne story. The childhood crush plot line was cute and I like H's family. I'm never a fan of the continuing "I'm not a model so how could he be interested in me?" storyline. I like to think it's because I want the h characters to be strong and confident, but girls whining about "dating in their lane" or "not being a 10" etc is super annoying. All in all the book is worth a listen and I will continue with the series.

This was a really enjoyable story. I think both narrators did a really good job of bringing the characters to life.

    3.75 Stars for me.

This story ranged from 3 - 4 stars throughout and much was due to the Wie is me h. She was always waiting for the other shoe to drop and often let minor things to blow up in to big issues.

I enjoyed the additional characters and am interested in finding out who the arsonist is.

I enjoyed this book a lot more then I thought I would… wish it didn’t have a cliff hanger (though a shallow one) but it makes me want to listen to the next book, which is what the author wants of course… I really love how honest the characters are… it seams in every second book there is a “we find out character A’s secret, but they keep it from character B until the end and it causes a huge fight and break up until they finally are honest and listen to each other” and I’m left yelling at my device “just be honest for the sake of…” but in this book, no secret was kept long and even though there was some (good) drama, the characters where very open. Now on to the next one!

Excellent story of when high school jocks are blind by beauty on the inside! Pretty love story!
