About this audiobook

Pro-tip: Don’t agree to a fake engagement with a ruthless mafia crime lord like me after you catch your real fiancé cheating. I just might keep you.

She agreed to be mine for as long as it takes for a business deal to go through. She thinks this is a game. One she’ll win if she plays by the rules.

Here’s what she doesn’t understand. When it comes to me, there are no rules.

Scruples? Integrity? Playing fair? Nah.

Our engagement might be fake, but she’s about to find out...I’m for real obsessed.

There’s nothing I won’t do to make her mine.

Why are the Black women in these books written with so much trauma in their backstory??? Why can’t these women be confident and secure in their identity. No self esteem whatsoever… And why does she feel like she owes this white racist world anything? That part was the worst. It’s infuriating and weird. Also why wasn’t Olivia’s family Black?!? Why the hell did she have to be adopted by some lame ass white family? This white family is trash and obtuse when it comes to Olivia…..Ridiculous….the Black housekeeper was also kinda problematic AF too. Also the south I’m not a monolith. We’re not characters from gone with the wind. The conflict portion that these books always have was so ridiculous and made no sense….wtf would she go back to Garrett???? Complete Nonsense.

This book continues the detailed storytelling Ms Taylor weaves into her novels. I've read quite a few of her novels. Each one feels like I am catching up with old friends and making new ones. I like learning the stories behind the characters.
