About this audiobook

Even angels have their demons.

Jordan Reiss is well aware that if she was on fire the entire town of Oak Creek would probably go inside and make a sandwich. She can’t blame them. Her father scammed half the town out of their retirement funds, and then she…

She did so much worse.

She doesn’t expect forgiveness. But she’s back in town with no other options and just wants to be left alone to live on the fierce Wyoming land she’s missed so much during her six years in prison.

Former Navy SEAL Gabriel Collingwood's callsign may have been Angel, but he'll be anything but to protect his sister. Especially from a pretty ex-con who has somehow weaseled her way into a job at his sister’s new bakery.

He doesn't trust Jordan, even with her big gray eyes and quiet smile.

But when someone decides it's time for Jordan to leave Oak Creek—preferably in a body bag—Gabe will have to put his distrust aside. Jordan needs her own guardian angel. And he happens to be one.

Small towns- the good, bad, and beautifully ugly. Near everyone forgot Jordan’s mother was deeply rooted in their town and were quick hold vicious vendetta against a teenager who was left behind. Despite their financial loses, the town’s treatment of Jordan - not to mention Annie & Charlie doesn’t reflect well, doesn’t seem like place I want to live. Jordan somehow seems to have all the forgiveness and compassion in the world for people who don’t deserve it much. But she does persevere with an enormous amount of grace. Gabe is one lucky guy even if he deserves a good swift kick more often than not.

Gabriel & Jordan: triggers: taunting, hacking, fraud, sexual assault, vandalism, assault. Finally we get Jordan's story. Jordan is the woman recently released from prison for involuntary manslaughter. Treated like a pariah in town, she does whatever small jobs she can get to survive. This book picks up a little bit before the end of the previous book when she and Violet are trapped in the bakery. Injured and mistreated in the hospital, violet's brother, Gabriel begins to see just how bad the town treats her. He's intrigued by her but knows she's trouble. Soon they won't be about to avoid each other or their feelings. Then someone from get past returns to take away what little happiness she's managed to grab. Really good story and I'm so glad that Jordan is finally vindicated.
