About this audiobook
Together, beyond death…
A new Unnatural horror is about to rattle Hannah Miles’ quiet existence, and it’s not the short-tempered viscount prowling the hallways of her home. Someone is creating monsters by stitching together pieces of different people. When a limb attempts to escape, Viscount Wycliff is called to investigate. All of London knows there is one mad scientist among them capable of creating such an ungodly monster: Sir Hugh Miles.
Hannah’s father is suspected of a most heinous crime and she is determined to clear his name, even as Wycliff works to see the murderer hang. Buried secrets that touch all their lives threaten to surface…and one such secret could tear Hannah’s world apart.
With Hannah and Wycliff on opposing sides, can they find the real monster? Will it be the hand that wields the scalpel, or the creature hiding in the dark?

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Alright, hear me out. I’m currently starting the fifth book in this series.
I am not going to lie; this second book really didn’t hold my attention or curiosity until about half way through… maybe a bit more. It definitely took me a good amount of time to get into it. I felt the story was a bit dry to start and hard to get involved in.
HOWEVER, as with the first (and every one I’ve listened to since), the writing was very very well done. I
don’t come across this type of writing often anymore; usually the authors I read these days are so rushed to get to their climax that they don’t offer thorough descriptions and coherent story lines. Ms. Wallace shares a deep plot with enjoyable characters (trust me, Lord Wycliffe becomes more and more of a positive character).
As mentioned, I’m currently starting book five and I’ve been happy with the development in the story along with the satisfying endings.
Book 3 was where I really fully decided to complete the series.3 people found this helpful
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Such a solid story, nice flow to it and that plot twist was not expected..... can't wait to see how these two cutie go forward from here.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another enjoyable combination of Jane austen, amurder mystery and the supernatural. The mystery was interesting if not difficult to figure out.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this now, adding to the twist to having Adam's family meets regency chasing after the monster to save her father from the gallows.
